Talawanda Student Charged with Making “Terroristic Threats”

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that a Talawanda High School student was charged for “Making Terroristic Threats”. On August 28th 2014, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer received information that a student was planning on coming to school on August 29th with a handgun and rifle concealed under a trench coat. Upon receiving the information, the 15-year old male student was immediately located by Sheriff’s Office detectives. The investigation revealed that the student had been playing a “Truth or Dare” type game and threatened to go to school with the weapons. As a precaution, a consent search was done at his residence and no weapons were found.
