Fatal Crash in Wayne Township

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that a fatal, single-vehicle traffic crash occurred on Thursday afternoon, May 1st, in Wayne Township.

Deputies along with the Wayne Township Fire Department responded to the 4500 block of Wayne Trace Road for a report of a single vehicle crash. Upon arrival, deputies found that a 2002 Chevrolet Trail Blazer was traveling south on Wayne Trace Road when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a utility pole. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Butler County Family Suffers Double Tragedy in Same Night

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that, on April 3rd 2014 at approximately 8:25 pm, a ten-year old boy was riding his bike on Sample Road in Reily Township when he was struck by a vehicle.

The boy was transported to Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati with reportedly severe head trauma. The crash is still under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Traffic Unit.

Approximately five hours later, at approximately 1:30 am, Butler County dispatchers received a call reporting a fire on Sample Road. The residence was reported to have heavy fire damage. Several fire departments provided mutual aid to assist the Reily Township Fire Department. The Butler County Sheriff’s Office made contact with family members, who were at the hospital with their son, to advise them of the fire.

Train/Vehicle Crash Early Morning on March 1 Results in Fatality

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that deputies and emergency personnel were dispatched to the train track crossing on Hamilton-Eaton Road, near the Harris Road intersection in Milford Township, shortly after 1 am on Saturday, March 1, for a reported train/vehicle crash.

The preliminary report indicates that Johnny Robbins, age 38, of Winston Drive, Hamilton, was travelling northbound on Hamilton-Eaton Road driving a 1999 Ford Taurus. He apparently failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, crossed left of center and struck a guardrail off the left side of the roadway. After striking the guardrail, the vehicle spun completely around and came to rest across the train tracks, just as a north-bound Norfolk and Southern train was approaching.

Crash in St. Clair Township Last Night Sends Three Teens to Hospitals

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports a two-vehicle crash in northern St. Clair Township last night, December 26, shortly before 10 pm resulted in three teens being transported to hospitals. The preliminary report indicates that Ashley Spaulding, age 17, of 3rd Street, Trenton, was driving a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire south-bound on Jacksonburg Road just south of Taylor School road. As she attempted to pass a vehicle, she apparently lost control, and her vehicle began swerving, eventually sliding sideways across both lanes of traffic. The Sunfire then collided with a north-bound 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Dalton Williams, age 19, from Meadow Lane, Trenton.

Spaulding and her passenger, Sierra Lindamood, age 17, of Morganthaler Road, St. Clair Township, were both transported by Air care to University Hospital, Cincinnati, with what appeared to be serious injuries. Williams was transported by Wayne Township Squad to The Atrium Hospital, in Middletown. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (START).

Seven Mile Resident Dies after Being Struck by Vehicle Yesterday

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that the pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Seven Mile yesterday morning has died from injuries sustained in the accident. Donald Mays, age 84, of Seven Mile, was pronounced deceased late last night at University Hospital, Cincinnati, where he was flown by Air Care yesterday from the scene of the crash.

Air Care Responds for Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that a traffic accident occurred this morning sending a pedestrian to the hospital with serious injuries.

At approximately 0600 hours a Ford F150 traveling southbound on US 127, driven by a Randy Collins (age 48), who is a Wayne Township resident, struck an 84 year old pedestrian in Seven Mile near the intersection of US127 and West Elkton Road. The pedestrian was transported to University Hospital by Air Care with serious injuries. The pedestrian is a resident of Seven Mile. The name and information of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of family members.

Driver of Fatal Crash in Hanover Township Identified

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that Traffic Investigators believe they have determined the driver in Saturday night’s fatal, single-vehicle crash in Hanover Township that claimed the life of 19-year-old Hamilton resident Benjamin Flick. The preliminary investigation indicates Sean Van Dyne, age 18, of Hamilton, was driving the 2009 Chevrolet that crashed around 10:20 pm on Stahlheber Road near the intersection of Morman Road.
