One Person Killed In Head On Collision Ross Township

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that at approximately 6:00 am on August 27, 2014, Ross Township emergency crews along with Butler County S.T.A.R.T. (Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team) responded to the 2400 block of Ross Millville Road for a head on collision involving two vehicles. The preliminary investigation shows that a 1999 Chrysler Concord went left of the center line and struck a 2011 Ford F150. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage. The driver of the Ford truck was transported by Ross Township to Fort Hamilton Hospital for chest pains. The driver of the Chrysler was pronounced dead at the scene. Names are being withheld at this time pending notification to family.

Home Invasion Investigation Uncovers Marijuana Grow Operation

Today, at approximately 12:50am, 87 year old Howard Fisher was the victim of a home invasion burglary in the 1200 block of Millville-Shandon Road in Ross Township. Mr. Fisher states multiple individuals entered his home and held him at gunpoint while several items that belonged to his grandson, Christopher Fisher, were taken. Christopher Fisher was not home at the time. During the home invasion Mr. Fisher suffered an injury to his hand when he was struck by one of the suspects.

Undercover Drug Agents Record Very Active Weekend

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports undercover agents from the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics (BURN) Task Force were quite active this past weekend with four separate investigations netting four arrests and the seizure of thousands of dollars-worth of illegal drugs, 3 vehicles, a handgun, and a double barreled, sawed-off shotgun. Following is a synopsis of the weekend activities:

  • Friday, March 7, around 3:30 pm…with assistance from, the U.S. Postal Inspectors, a controlled delivery of a package led to an eventual targeted traffic stop along State Route 127 near the Hamilton Power Station along the Third Street Extension. Robert Wolfram, Jr., age 26, of Greenwood Ave., Hamilton, was arrested and charged with felony Trafficking and felony Possession Drug charges. Agents seized 2 pounds of high-grade marijuana (street value of about $10,000).
  • Friday night, March 7, around 11:45 pm…a targeted traffic stop on Main Street near Eaton Rd. in Hamilton, and a subsequent search warrant at a relative’s house on Franklin St, netted the seizure of 4 ounces of cocaine ($4,800 street value), ½ ounce of heroin, a 2000 Chevy Tahoe, and a 1992 Cadillac. Arrested was Donald Ellis, age 36. of Lawn Ave., Hamilton, with multiple felony drug charges.
  • Saturday night, March 8, around 9 pm…agents executed a search warrant at 330 East Ave., Hamilton, seizing almost 6 ounces of cocaine (street value of $7,200). The homeowner, Tina Davis, age 47, was arrested and charged with felony counts of Possession of Cocaine and Permitting Drug Abuse.
  • Saturday night, March 8, around 9:30 pm, a targeted traffic stop on U.S Route 27 near State Route 128 in Ross Township, and a subsequent search at a Scott Street, Shandon, residence netted approx. 2 ounces of crystal meth (valued at $3,000), seizure of a small handgun, a sawed-off, double barreled shotgun, and a 1994 Chevy Cavalier. Anthony Chad McCormick, age 30, of Shandon, was charged with multiple felony drug charges and resisting arrest.
