Large Scale Drug Trafficker Calls Deputies On Himself

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that on 5/20/19 Jesse Gaines 1/03/97 called 911 to report a female that would not leave a property in the 1400 block of Wichita Drive in New Miami. When Deputies arrived they spoke with both Gaines and a female who was there to retrieve personal property.

Once inside the home to retrieve property, Deputies were made aware of a bag in the freezer that appeared to contain drugs. Agents with the BURN Task Force were called and executed a search warrant. St. Clair Township Single Vehicle Fatal Crash

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that on May 11, 2019, at approximately 9:45pm, Deputies along with Fire and EMS from St Clair Twp., Seven Mile, and Trenton, were dispatched to Hamilton Eaton Rd south of Spring Rd for a single vehicle crash.  The vehicle was travelling north on Hamilton Eaton and went off the road and down an embankment striking a tree. Brayden Leaker of Hamilton, Ohio, whom was a passenger of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver and another passenger were transported to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries

Hamilton Man Charged With Drug Trafficking

On April 24, 2019, Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Task Force, conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 gold Kia Sorento SUV registered to Eddie Smiley Jr. The Driver was identified as De’Antae Lamont Tae Wallace, a 31 year old male from Hamilton Ohio.

Jones reports the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Dog Wardens investigated an attack on a 5 year old girl that happened Saturday April 6^th on Millikin Street in the City of Hamilton. The pit bull was recently labeled a dangerous dog by the Dog Wardens from a separate dog attack on a child from September 2018.

The 5 year old suffered a fractured jaw and several open wounds on her head and face. She is expected to make a full recovery but will require continued medical care.

Drive-By Shooting Results In Arrests

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that yesterday at approximately 7 PM, several rounds were fired into a residence at 81 Woodrow Street, St. Clair Township in a drive by shooting. Prior to this shooting, New Miami Police had a similar incident at 131 Howman Avenue. It was believed the incidents are related. There were no injuries in either incident.

Today, detectives have charged Johnathan Lovins, 28 year old male from Hamilton for improper discharging a firearm into a habitat, a 2^nd degree felony. Eren Binkley, 28 year old male was arrested on an outstanding warrant for parole violation.

During the investigation, an anonymous tip came in that led to the home of a juvenile who had possession of an AK 47 assault rifle.  The 15 year old student of Hamilton City Schools is associated with the above subjects however; investigators do not believe the juvenile is involved in incidents.  “We are lucky that no one suffered injuries in either incident and these guys are off the street.  The detectives worked non-stop on this case to get it solved,” said Sheriff Jones. The juvenile has not been charged at this time.
