Two Month Heroin Investigation Ends With 4 In Custody

Butler County Sheriff, Richard K. Jones reports that Monday evening the Butler County Sheriff’s Office B.U.R.N. (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics) Taskforce concluded a two month heroin investigation. BURN and DEA agents contacted suspected drug trafficker Arnulfo Vazquez-Ledesma in the area of Woodstock Drive in Fairfield. After a K-9 alerted on the vehicle being operated by Vazquez-Ledesma, a search was conducted. Agents located a large amount of U.S. currency concealed in the trunk of the vehicle. Agents subsequently conducted a search warrant at the residence of Vasquez-Ledesma located at 58 Woodstock Drive. In the residence, agents located over two pounds of heroin and a pound of cocaine. Agents also located additional U.S. currency totaling over $52,000.

Vazquez-Ledesma was taken into federal custody and detained on federal drug trafficking charges. The drugs seized have a combined street value of approximately $150,000.

Agents Apprehend Drug Trafficker through Tips

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that on January 14^th, the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Taskforce (B.U.R.N.) received a tip that a subject had been traveling out of state on a regular basis to illegally obtain large amounts of Roxicet (Oxycodone/Acetaminophen) prescription pills.

Through surveillance, agents were able to locate the subject as he was returning to the Butler County area. Three Arrested In Large Heroin Bust

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that On December 4, 2015, Agents with B.U.R.N. (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics) Taskforce along with Agents from D.A.R.T. Hamilton County Drug Abuse Reduction Taskforce conducted simultaneous search warrants on a drug trafficking cell. The cell was operating in both Butler and Hamilton Counties.

Rashod Lindsey, 27 year-old male, and Kelvin Whiteside, 23 year-old male, were arrested during the search warrant at 1866 Lakeknoll Drive, Apartment D in Mount Healthy Ohio. Ray Walker, 30 year-old male was arrested at 6 North 10^th Street in the City of Hamilton.

Butler County Sheriff, Richard K. Jones reports that yesterday, early afternoon, the BURN (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics) task force conducted a search warrant at 281 Walnut Street in the City of Hamilton. The search resulted in the discovery of over 40 grams of heroin and over 40 grams of cocaine. Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that on Tuesday, November 10^th around 6 AM, B.U.R.N. (Butler County Regional Narcotics) Taskforce and the United States Marshals Service S.O.F.A.S.T. (Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Taskforce) joined efforts and conducted a county-wide sweep for outstanding drug-related warrants.

“These arrests are the result of several lengthy investigations into the heroin epidemic. We worked well together to make this a success,” stated Sergeant Jason Owens.

The Sheriff’s Office conducts quite a few warrant sweeps each year with a high success rate. “This is a necessity”, said the Sheriff. “If you have a debt to pay, someone has to collect it. Tuesday morning was a great accomplishment in doing just that. I am very proud of these agents and appreciate the assistance of the Marshals.
