Update Info: Fatal Crash 08/05/2012 in Milford Township

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports his office is releasing the names of the two persons who were victims in yesterday’s fatal single-vehicle crash in Milford Township. Preliminary investigation indicates that Charles R. Lucas, age 72, of Miamisburg, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck eastbound on State Route 73. About ½ mile east of the intersection with State Route 177, Lucas lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel off the left side of the roadway where it struck a culvert, and flipped.

Charles Lucas was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. His passenger, Loretta Lucas, age 72, of the same Miamisburg address, was initially transported from the scene to the Atrium Hospital in Middletown where she was later pronounced dead. The cause of the crash still remains under investigation by the Butler County S.T.A.R.T. (Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team) Unit and the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
