Jail Break-In Suspect Remains Jailed

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that the case against a suspect accused of trying to break IN to a secured area of the Butler County Jail Complex has been continued until August 9, 2012, in Hamilton Municipal Court. Tiffany R. Hurd, 36, of Hamilton, was arrested approximately 7:30 am yesterday morning (July 29) after she was discovered attempting to climb the perimeter fence securing the Butler County Jail Complex, trying to get IN to the area. Correctional staff had been summoned to the fence after Hurd was observed by Corrections Officers leaving at the end of their shift, trying to climb it. They were unable to convince her to stop, so Deputies were called to the scene. Hurd, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, was arrested for Criminal Trespass and Disorderly Conduct, thereby successfully managing to gain her entrance to jail, but in the more traditional manner – escorted by an arresting Deputy.

I’ve seen a lot throughout my career, but this one is truly unique. I will probably never say that I’ve now ‘seen it all,’ but this one sure comes close. You just never really know what some people are thinking and why they do some of the things they do. Wow—I wonder what the next surprise will be.”
