Jones reports that 18-year-old Michael Ray was arrested last evening in connection with the stabbing death of his 36-year-old step-father, Bryan K. Schmidt, Sr. Deputies and emergency personnel were called to the Schmidt residence in the 2800 block of Weeping Willow Drive, Hamilton (St. Clair Twp.) around 4:30 yesterday afternoon. Mr. Schmidt was located on the kitchen floor, deceased, a victim of multiple stab wounds. Mr. Ray was located in an adjacent room, and was taken into custody. He has been charged with Murder, and is currently confined in the Butler County Jail. He is scheduled for arraignment in Hamilton Municipal Court this morning. Sheriff’s Office Investigators did locate and recover a knife, believed to be the murder weapon, inside the residence. The Butler County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene. An official autopsy is expected to be conducted today.
