Emaciated Dog Found On The Street, Owner Charged With Cruelty
Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Dog Wardens tracked down and located the owner of the severely emaciated pit bull mix found on Knightsbridge last week. The dog, Lucy, has severe diabetes and the owner failed to properly care for her ongoing medical care and needs, resulting in her overall condition. Lucy was hospitalized all weekend to get her numbers back up to a normal level.
The owner, Christina N. Sharp of Hamilton, was charged with cruelty to a companion animal, misdemeanor in the 1st degree, failure to license, misdemeanor in the 4th degree, and failure to confine, misdemeanor in the 4th degree. “Lucy’s condition after being cared for is like night and day, not only physically but you can see she is happier. She will continue to get the care she needs. We will not tolerate this treatment towards animals in this county,” states Sheriff Jones.
