Kentucky Speedway’s Magpul Top Cop Challenge Returns During Police Memorial Week  

SPARTA, Ky. – Officers from eight regional law enforcement agencies will compete and test their stock car racing skills in Richard Petty Driving Experience racecars during the third Magpul Top Cop Challenge at Kentucky Speedway May 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Officers representing the City of Cincinnati, Butler Co., Ohio, Hamilton Co., Ohio, City of Newport, Ky., Jeffersontown, Ky., Gallatin Co., Ky., Oldham Co. Ky., and the Kentucky State Police will participate in a two-officer team competition that will ultimately determine three officers who will have the chance to become Magpul Top Cop.

The Magpul Top Cop Challenge is just one event that will remember fallen officers throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana during Police Memorial Week May 11-15. Fallen officers will be honored with a Police Memorial Parade that will begin May 11 at 11 a.m., at Fountain Square on Fifth Street and traverse to the Cincinnati Police Memorial at the corner of Central Parkway and Ezzard Charles Drive.

The fifth NSCS event in the facility’s history will take the green flag at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 11. The 400-mile race will provide the finale to a tripleheader NASCAR weekend that opens with the July 9 Camping World Truck Series UNOH 225 followed by a 300-mile NXS Series event July 10.
