“Animals can attack for many reasons.  This is not the first time we have had to respond for a dog attacking the owner or known family member and unfortunately we have responded to scenes where the person did not survive the attack.  It is a very traumatic event when things like his happen because you may have to say goodbye to a family pet or worse. The animal in this case will be euthanized to avoid any further chances of harm,” said the Sheriff.

The victim is expected to recover from her injuries.  The exact breed of the dog is not known at this time.
