Search warrant leads to large marijuana bust in Hamilton
Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that around 7:30 PM yesterday, citizen complaints and anonymous tips led undercover agents to 220 North D Street in the City of Hamilton where a large marijuana grow operation was being processed. A search warrant was jointly executed by agents of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Hamilton Police Department. There were approximately 63 plants and 2 loaded handguns confiscated from the home. James W. Gordley, a 45 year old male, was charged with illegal cultivation of marijuana and trafficking in drugs; both charges are felonies of the 4th degree.
“The charges are higher felonies because of children being in close proximity,” Sgt. Mike Hackney said. “There is a school and a park right across the street. We expect more suspects and charges to come out of this investigation.”
