Sheriff Proposes 5 Year Contract To Fairfield Township
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones sent a letter to the Fairfield Township Administrator, Ken Geis with a proposal to save the tax payers money and still provide police service to the citizens 24/7. The proposal would eliminate the $4.8 mill levy from going on a ballot.
The Sheriff would be able to provide Fairfield Township services for $1.8 million dollars, the amount currently generated by the levy, which would alleviate transferring funds for police services from the general fund and the need for the proposed levy. “It just makes sense to utilize our agency. It saves money, still provides outstanding service, and gives full access to the Sheriff’s Office services. I can’t possibly think of a better plan of action,” said Sheriff Jones.
