Operation C.A.S.T.
I am pleased to announce the preliminary results of a recent multi-month undercover investigation titled Operation: “CAST” which stands for Criminal Auto Sales and Titles. The Butler County Sheriff’s Office had received information that local car dealerships were selling vehicles to illegal aliens and knowingly processing the vehicle titles and registrations under fictitious names with the State of Ohio and Butler County.
I sent undercover officers into the dealership and on their very first attempt, my undercover officers were sold fake identification cards. The dealership then used the new fake ID to facilitate the sale of vehicles. Subsequently the dealership proceeded to process the title and registration under this known fake identification. After further investigation, it was reveal that the social security number provided actually belonged to someone else!
Over the next several months, the undercover Officers were able to make several similar transactions. The Social Security Administration and the State of Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles was brought into to assist in this investigation. The BMV was able to identify about 30 similar transactions from these dealerships in a two month period.
At one point during this investigation, undercover officers were contacted by one of the suspects who oddly enough identified himself as a ‘Detective with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office’. The suspect was trying to coerce undercover officers into making additional payments and had no idea he was actually dealing with real undercover officers from the Sheriff’s Office!
Search warrants were executed at three local car dealerships and nine individuals are expected to be arrested and charged on 34 indictments ranging from tampering with records to impersonating a law enforcement officer. The owners of the dealerships are included in those arrested. I will be working with local ICE officials regarding several of the suspects who have been identified as illegal aliens.
The vehicles purchased by undercover officers in this investigation were not in very good condition and were obviously overpriced which indicated to undercover officers that the dealerships were looking for huge profits from the illegal transactions. The dealerships also allowed one employee, an illegal alien, to change his name, date of birth, and social security number. That employee purchased the information of a real person so he could become a certified sales person through the BMV.
The investigation also found that individual had been arrested under 4 different names and 2 different social security numbers. In addition, the dealerships would pose as detectives with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office in an attempt to force payments. Investigators believe this ploy was used to intimidate illegal aliens because of my stance on illegal immigration.
I would like to express a special thanks to Butler County Prosecutor Robin Piper and members of his office, John Schubenski of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and Officials from the Social Security Administration, who assisted with the investigations. The coordination and cooperation with these individuals and departments played an essential role in the operation.

These slimeballs need to be thrown in your jail and the keys tossed out! I always wondered how they get cars and tags. We now have the answer. I read in the paper today that the owners of these slimeball dealerships lived in $750,000 homes while the exploited illegal immigrants to pay the mortgages. Sick, really disgusting!
Not only did you go after those that expoit illegal immigrants you ended up helping them by nabbing these criminals and were able to deport some as well. What a win win deal Sheriff.

It’s obvious that the illegals not only violate our border laws, our employment laws, our identity laws, our driving laws, but every other law they can get away with breaking, and it’s only with the help of other criminally minded folks that they get away with it for so long.

what a great job you did with the route 4 car lots.Now come on out here where their all hiding is at countryside village. my sister had to go today and file charges and get papers gathered to take to the proscutor in middletown for the damages to her home from the hispanics next door to her, the manager has said in the past to her and other residents “don’t call the police call us and I take care of the problem with the hispanics” isn’t that kinda a funny? now when the officer came to make the report at my sisters he told her in front of others standing their that her rights are being violated for the managers statement. You might just do another good sweep out there as well. in fact alot of the residents including my sister said they would all come in and talk to you if you can make the time. you can warn these people but they think they are untouchable. and they keep pushing and etc. you know the scary thing is alot of people are so fed up that there starting to take the law in their own hands!!! and it worrys me with my family living out there. but then again its everywhere. If their legal so be it. if not how in the world are they able to buy these mobile homes from countryside/ quailty homes? We all know everyone here isn’t all Legal !! some of them moved out afraid you will find out !! there is a lady who has alot of information on the ones living here illegally. so its more information to give you. and how is it the manager is able to get ALL of these hispanics in? has she taken some sort of class through ( ICE) ? how can you tell the legal ones from the illegals ones? how can she? isn’t there a law for selling homes to illegalls?or even renting to them? alot of questions and no answers for any of those residents. If you want to round up Lots and Lots of Illegals try Here at Maple Oaks in Middletown. There are many of them. My stepmom has had her car hit twice by two of them and My friend had her car totaled by one and the police said they couldn’t do anything about it. Because 1. they are not legal and 2. they don’t carry car insurance. I am totally for what you are doing Sherriff. But can anything be done to get them away from here? PLEASE HELP US REGAIN OUR FREEDOM…

well hello its me again, just a little tidbit for you, the neighbors and I along with my sister took me for a ride we wrote down all the homes where they lived out here and we counted up exactly 77 homes. one street we got over whelmed because there was so many on the street we didn’t want to take a chance of a confrontation. so I know we probably missed another 6-10 homes on this one street in countryside. Thats alot of them in one place.The one lady who has information for you caught some behind her home and she confronted them and they told her they were just looking around? BEHIND PEOPLES HOMES? sounds to us they are looking for trouble. I have advise my sister to put video cameras in her windows with warning notices they would be video taped. What has this country becoming? People having to live with cameras in the windows to watch for theiving or vandalizm.alrams put in their homes so they can sleep at night without their throats cut? The Hamilton Police Chief Neil Fedelman says he wants to “Work with immigrants to SOLVE CRIMES”. He also stated “Crime involving immigrants in Hamilton declined from 2006 to 2007″.
Sheriff - all of this and the Hispanics in Butler Co make up only 2.3% of the TOTAL Population.
This is the election year. You admit “the ACLU isn’t happy with my stance on this” how can other Butler Country residence not take a second look at you?
Don’t be blinded by the Star. He has wasted our dollars creating committies to put together invoices which he admits he knows will never be paid. Use my tax dollars more wisely. Interesting to know that several residents has heard this manager out at countryside tell illegals that she knows how to get around it the system so that they can move in out here? everything about the illegals is a money making crime, countryside had so many empty homes that had to fill will someone and the manger is married to a hispanic as I hear, so she probalby does know how to get around the system. and the residents not just here but at other places like middletown are being tormented by things getting destroyed and these people don’t have to pay for their crime. we are so tired of it, but I can say my sister did get her case heard in front of the prosecutor and she did file her charges and now were just waiting to go to court she has half of her own street going because they are tired of it and after these people got their invititation they just laughed and went on tormenting her. but we have pictures, witness and video tapes of their crimes let see who laughs last? we are making our stand and raising Our American Flags on Saturday to show this is our country and it has laws. we come home from work and see their flags hanging in their windows and we all working our tails off so these hispanic women gathering with their babies in the streets not being watched AND were working for them to lay around and collect from our country? I forgot Did we Owe them something? People quit gripe-ing stand up But do it legally. Its time to take a stand.Our children are being bullied, our homes and cars are being destroyed. I think you are right in going after illegals but there are other problems in Butler county more important in my opinion that are not being taken care of.Drug dealers seem to run rampant just keep making money and if they do get arrested they are out in a day ortwo and rigjht back selling drugs,which are killing our legal citizens.I have two sons who have drug problems and I know about these drug dealers so I know the police have to know about them. one was just arrested last week and was out a couple of days later leaving messages about all the heroin he had for sale.I am a law abiding,tax paying citizen and would like to see something done with these dealers. They are destoying lives and making good money at it.I guess you consider addicts not worthy of help and I and my family have been through hell because of addiction and if you know anything about it you would know it is an illness. These addicts need help and less drug dealers on the street would be some help.I hope you never have an addict in your family because it is sheer torture and if you did more probably would get done about them.
There was a study that showed straight correlation between race/group tolerance and well-being of those groups. In other words aggression towards somehow different people (other tribe) stems from one’s worsening situation.
So this is a perfect example of such study - don’t we all feel the growth of hostility??? “They don’t belong here”, “they are rapists”, ” they don’t deserve”, “they spent my tax dollars”…
Why do we try to count the change in the neighbours’ pockets? Why do we accuse least affluent, least lucky group of our society of all own hardships?
And let’s face it, immigration law at its present is anything but logical “higher law”. Rather a “current policy”. “Thou shalt not kill” is the law. “Thou shalt adjust the status within 180 days when thou marries a citizen” is the policy. “Thou shalt become legal immigrant when thou wins the lottery” is policy too.
Let’s rather concentrate on how to compete with the rest of the World successfully and continue to be “a shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere”.
I’m an immigrant and I don’t do drugs, rob, steal or kill people. But I pay all taxes, I study and I recycle. Do you?

I am a legal immigrant from south america and i completely agree with you trying to clean up the law breaking hispanics in our community they give the ones that are here legally, respecting the law to the fullest, working, studying, paying taxes and living like any other American a bad name and reputation; But who is taking care of the White, Black, Asian and African criminals, rapists, drug dealers, Gang members, Etc. I think if you plan of doing a full clean up of butler county like you been claiming to the public you need to devote the same amount of time to ALL THE RACES, there is White American killers, drug dealers, rapist, gang members and kkk members all over butler county & WHO IS GETTING THEM?? …keep up the good work!

You should be commended for all you are trying to do in the area of illegal immigrants. I do not have a problem with people coming to our great country as long as it is done legally, but I have a huge problem when not done legally and then they come here take over our communities and commit crime after crime. I am fed up. My question to you and I hope you will respond is as follows.
I have been following the cases from “Operation C.A.S.T.”. I have just noticed that most of the defendants have plead guilty and are being sentenced in July and a couple of them have been sentenced to probation. I talked to one of the detectives a few days after all of this and he stated they would lose their dealer license if found guilty. Why are they still in business? It does not appear to be a deterent if they get a slap on the wrist and are allowed to continue to do business as usual. These people have committed crimes in our county and continue to do so.
Please update us all on what is happening in this case and what the consequences will be and the state of the dealerships. Our taxes have paid for this investigation and we should know what we are getting out of it.

I want to commend Sheriff Jones and his staff in regards to the illegal immigrants you are doing a great thing. But I am kinda aggravated to see that these fellow states are not helping us with the illegals because they get deported from here this means a free trip back home and then within a week they are back with the help of fellow Americans that these illegals are associated with. The other states do not take this as serious as we do here. I know of an illegal and his American “grilfriend” he has been deported twice now and the first time by the time he made it back to Mexico she was on her way to Texas to get him and bring him back then the second time she did the same but got stopped in Texas and they found the illegal and sent him back and all they did to her was impounded her vehicle she should be charged with something but they didnt they paid for a bus ticker for her to come back home.

I have a question about the legalities of Illegal Immigrants using fake identification or not being asked for identification when purchasing alcohol or cigarettes. I also have a question about what the legalities are to the real estate owners that rent to illegal immigrants?
Because illegal immigrants are in the bars buying ALCOHOL, at the store buying cigarettes, and They are renting houses and apartments all over Hamilton, Maybe it is time to look at a different approach, prosecute any bar owner or bartender serving alcohol to an illegal immigrant without identification and prosecute the real estate owners rented them houses and apartments?
The sheriff is so worried about the “illegals aliens” that he is spending all this money to be able to enforce immigration laws, hell he can’t even keep his NEW JAIL running wothout asking the county to raise his spending budget… what he needs to do is inform his officers who on the streets the laws when the traffic lights are not working!!! i was turning onto Martin Luther King Blvd from Hanover street, the lights were not working (which in that case it is a four way stop) i stopped waited for the other cars to take their turn and when it was my turn here came a sheriff car flying through the intersection, with no lights on or nothing, I had to slam on my breaks and then he slammed on his breaks i turned and then that S.O.B. had the nerve to get behind me and follow me for about to blocks then he whipped out from behind me and took off flying down the street again with no lights on!!! if he was on a call he should at least have his lights on. the sheriff thinks he is the best thing since apple pie, and all he is doing is turning this county into redneck hillbillies and racist just like him. my husband and i are going through the immigration process we have spent more than $3000.00 dollars and it is going to take lot more money to finish the process. I am a college graduate and pay taxes i will not be voting for sheriff Jones this year, and it is not for the immigration issue!!!! I don’t think he has done anything to deserve to be sheriff, besides spend money for a new jail, when we had two to begin with. if they were over crowded why not expand instead of spending taxe payers mony to build one, that now he needs other city’s immates to fill so he can get money to run it…. how about taking a page from the Lebanon prison, where the immates grow their own graden and raise their own cows and what ever else they need to survive, hell they even kill their own food there. i never hear of them not having money to run their jail….. I think you could do good if you wasn’t so one-minded. there are alot more crimes being committed in this county by people who are not illegal and all they get is a slap on the wrist. clean up the legal criminals before trying to be super pig and fight the immigration war.

thank you Sheriff Jones for all that you do. Illegal Immigrataion is a big problem in our City, and our country. I see my tax dollars going to persons who are here illegally and using false information to get assistance. I see them working under the same false informaiton cheaply when we have citizens here who jobs were just shipped overseas for outsource cheap labor.
I honestly do not have problem with persons who are in the US on working, student, etc visas. Not at all you are here bettering yourself. Anyone who comes here and works to become a Citizen i commend you, you have paid your dues. But for those who are not here legally I am tired of paying for them, and they need to be deported. I tired of working hard for a living everyday while they come here by what ever means they can and live off my hard earned tax dollars. i know full well I will never get Social Security i have paid into my whole live due to the extra drain.
While you are making a sweep at the Countryside Village, you might as well go through the Willows of Springdale as they are housing many illegals there also.
