We Made It! - 287g

The skeptics said I could never do it. Others said that it wasn’t possible to do anything about it or wasn’t any of my business. I kept telling everyone that I was going to do something about it, and after working on it for well over a year, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office now has limited federal power to deal with illegal aliens in our county!

At times it seemed like I was trying to climb Mt. Everest. I’d get to a point and be stalled for awhile, and then I’d push forward again. I kept pushing despite all the opposition because I believe the goal is worth all the effort. Now I can report that we finally have our flag flying at the top of the mountain.

We made it.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office now has eight ICE-Trained deputies to deal with the illegal aliens who have committed crimes and are incarcerated in the county jail. Now, instead of simply putting illegals who commit crimes back on the street and back into the county, we will be able to expedite putting them out of the country!

But let me remind everyone that the only illegals I’m interested in right now are the ones that are committing crimes and coming into my jail. They are the ones that I feel Butler County taxpayers shouldn’t be paying for.

I don’t have a problem with people coming here to try feed their families. I can see why they want to come to the greatest country in the world.

But ones that sneak into this country in the middle of the night and rape, rob, steal, sell drugs, or otherwise break our nations laws…

Those are the ones I deal with.

Thank you Sheriff Jones for not giving up despite those who try to minimize the negative impact of illegals and their bad behavior in our country.

You are courageous for taking the correct stand for the American rule of law and for the safety of your fellow Americans.

    Keep up the good work!!

I am ashamed to be an ‘American’ at times… home of the free and land of the brave? Only if you are fortunate enough to be born here. What happened to the very foundation of our country? America was built on finding a new, better life in a place where we could all pursue our dreams. Not to mention our founding fathers declared early on that all men ARE created equal. Why do WE or YOU have the right to treat people the way we have and continue to do so?

Everyone needs to take a step back. This is not a matter of documented or undocumented, THIS IS ABOUT BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS! We all need more compassion in this situation. Remember: these are mothers and father attempting to support their families or educate their children, provide them with health care that their countries don’t have (which is no fault of their own).

Next time you think about passing judgment on those you perceive as ‘illegal’ think about what you would have done in their situation? If you had a family and it had become next to impossible to guarantee that they receive the education and life that they deserve what would you do? Many of these people had little money to even live off of, let alone enough money to apply for citizenship. They want to be citizens, they just don’t always have the means to do so in the correct order.

At the vary least, at the risk of sounding even more redundant, they are PEOPLE who want what everyone else wants: a chance at a good and decent life.

For those of you who think he’s doing the wrong thing… we’ll send the illegals BACK to where they came from and, well, you are free to go back WITH THEM.

This country, you dinks, is based on laws created by those who came before us. Without law there is chaos. If you feel the laws here shouldn’t apply to everyone who comes here, then be gone, and use a station wagon when you go, because I’m sure there are some illegals who could use a cheap ride HOME.

If you think that they should be allowed to come here and be illegal because (oh, cry me a RIVER) they’re just trying to feed their families (what about those who are unemployed HERE, what happened to take care of your OWN), use some of that hot air windbagging of yours to FIX THEIR COUNTRY so they don’t NEED to come here to work and feed their family!! Fix their homelands and you might just be on to fixing the problem.

Until then, shut up and I hope it’s not YOUR identity they steal or YOUR house they break into for money or your daughter/son they rape, because, after all, what the hell is just another law to break?

I am proud and blessed to be an American, in spite of any “anonymous” hissy-fits. And I’m quite sure my country’s founders would rebuke such idiotic whining with a stiff hickory switch. Congratulations to you Sheriff and the folks you protect. What a victory! Thank you for the tenacity.

The pro illegal argument is based upon emotion. The anti illegal argument is based upon logic.

The solution to the illegal alien problem is for the pro illegals to stop exploiting their emotions and face the reality of the inherent logic against illegals.

Any emotional argument they provide is moot and irrelevant. Anti illegals are not swayed by emotions, because we are supported by logic.

Logic ALWAYS wins out over emotion - it’s the basis for our entire justice system. DUH!

For those of you interested, google, Roy Beck of NumbersUSA, to find a video titled Immigration Gumballs. He explains how immigration effects the growth of our great nation, and consequently, our American citizens, so this is important to each and every one of us. A short version of this can also be found on youtube.

You are doing this county a enormous service!

You’ve got my vote for as long as you want to hold office, sir!

  9. Comment by Concerned Citizen @ March 8, 2008, 3:29 pm

    Hello,

Sir, I have been informed of your concerns about illegal immigrants coming to the United States. Contrary to your beliefs of Latinos/ hispanics being burglars, criminals, and rapists. Did you know that they provide for about million dollars a year that goes unclaimed. Also, many of them do not come to the United States and steal the jobs away from citizens but, end up doing the jobs that american citizens would not do in the first place. If you would like more information you should take the time to research issues under the latino studies department at any of your higher education programs. Look forward to hearing a response….

  10. Comment by Jones @ March 11, 2008, 10:11 am

I, like most Americans, am COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED of ethnocentric “higher education.” You can keep it all. However, the illegal trespassers would be well advised to research some American founding documents. They might just find ideals of God given, gov protected liberties quite infectious. But, with the US sugardaddy around… probably not.
Anyway, I need to expose some limp, insulting debate techniques, as I have zero patience for this historic invasion of my country.
    Technique 1)
Move the discourse from the brain, to the heart. Manufacture sympathy through deception (”they provide for about million dollars a year that goes unclaimed”) to deaden resistance to their in-your-friggin-face lawlessness.
    Technique 2)
Wildly exaggerate statements (”burglars, criminals, and rapists”) to include an entire culture (”Latinos/ hispanics”) which, of course, was never stated. The intent is to guilt your adversary into a stammering, stuttering defensive position.
Technique 3) incidental, but part of a larger strategy THAT WE HAD BETTER UNDERSTAND. Stall with “dialog” until an overwhelming Hispanic laborer army is firmly entrenched. By the time Concerned Citizen gets his response, another hundred additional Latin “troops” will be wandering more of our good neighborhoods, each with a bandolier of LULAC/Mecha/LaRaza-issued race cards. Let us just hope they stumble into the Sheriff’s jurisdiction.

    God Bless Sheriff Jones!
When are you running for Governor…’cause you’ve got my vote!
The people sneaking across the border are ILLEGAL. What part of that don’t you people understand? They’re breaking the law…the sheriff is here to enforce the law… There’s no room for interpretation…no room for ‘anchor babies’…not my problem…
My taxes are paying for these people, and it shouldn’t even be my problem… My taxes should be paying for fire fighters to have better equipment, deputies to have the training and means to fight crime, streets to be kept clean, teachers to not have to deal with multi-lingual issues and focus on actually teaching OUR CHILDREN, etc… What is wrong with you people!

    Moderated for questionable language usage

  12. Comment by Anonymous @ March 13, 2008, 1:34 pm

you are targeting the wrong people not all hispanics/ latinos are criminals. just because they came here illegally don’t make them criminals. i’m sure we all did something we are not proud of in our life…. you other argument about them putting a strain on our welfare system is STUPID!!! you can not recieve assistants in butler county if you do not have a ss number. the ones putting a strain on our welfare system is the ones living in public housing sealing drugs and not being productive members of society…. i work my butt off to provide for my kids and to save money to get my illegal husband his papers so he can right his wrong we struggle to make ends meet, without help from the system.

  13. Comment by Borat @ May 8, 2008, 2:22 am

There was a study that showed straight correlation between race/group tolerance and well-being of those groups. In other words aggression towards somehow different people (other tribe) stems from one’s worsening situation.
So this is a perfect example of such study - don’t we all feel the growth of hostility??? “They don’t belong here”, “they are rapists”, ” they don’t deserve”, “they spent my tax dollars”…
Why do we try to count the change in the neighbours’ pockets? Why do we accuse least affluent, least lucky group of our society of all own hardships?
And let’s face it, immigration law at its present is anything but logical “higher law”. Rather a “current policy”. “Thou shalt not kill” is the law. “Thou shalt adjust the status within 180 days when thou marries a citizen” is the policy. “Thou shalt become legal immigrant when thou wins the lottery” is policy too.
Let’s rather concentrate on how to compete with the rest of the World successfully and continue to be “a shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere”.

I’m an immigrant and I don’t do drugs, rob, steal or kill people. But I pay all taxes, I study and I recycle. Do you? :-)

    Thank God for Sheriff Jones!

You’ve made it abundantly clear on your website that you are only interested in deporting the illegal aliens that are committing crimes in Butler County. I am in total support of everything you’re doing to get these criminals out of our region. It’s about time someone started doing something! And I love your no nonsense approach!

I personally believe that all illegal aliens should be deported and that the country they are from should pay for it. Notice I didn’t just say “illegal Mexicans” and “Mexico”? That’s because there are many illegal aliens from many different countries in the United States.

  15. Comment by Anonymous @ August 6, 2008, 1:42 pm

You should be ashamed of yourself! Only interested in illegals that commit crimes - didn’t know failing to put on your turn signal qualified. You are a racist and are no different than Hitler.

Go arrest the several Americans that make it possible for illegals to come here and work when they choose to smoke crack, neglect their children and cannot get up and go to work!

I cannot believe a bigot and racist can hold public office. I would pay anything for you to live their life for one week. To have to watch your children cry for food.

May God have mercy on you!

    I am appalled…

As Sheriff you say that you’re only interested in the criminal illegal alien invaders who have committed crimes and are in jail???

Excuse me but they have ALL committed serious crimes by illegally entering our country (not to mention all the other crimes which normally come subsequent to this as well), so any illegal alien IS a criminal and should be deported!

Enforcing the law doesn’t make you a racist or a bigot… it simply means that you’re doing your job. It is not your job or duty to be concerned about what problems the illegal criminal alien invaders may have in life. We all have problems. But as lawless criminals who obviously have no respect for our laws and are actively trying to take over our country and turn it into an extension of Mexico (”Aztlan” as they call it), these illegal criminal alien invaders must be treated as an enemy invading occupying force — they must be repelled and repatriated to their homeland, and if they resist then they must face immediate justice by being dispatched there on the spot.

My question to Sheriff Jones is how does he feel about the Hamilton Police Chief seen in videos on Youtube basically welcoming and “embracing” Illegal immigrants. The Police Chief claims he needs to solve crimes, but in my opinion there would no opportunity for Illegal immigrants to commit crime in Hamilton, Ohio if the initial law of “illegal” immigration was enforced. Sort of a Pandoras box. Solve crime that would never have happened if Sheriff Jones would have been able to enforce the law in the first place. It just does not make sense to me.

I have lived in Hamilton, Ohio only for 8 years, the city has a lot of possibilities if someone would just take the incentive. I have lived in multiple cities in my life time, and to me Hamilton, Ohio seems to be the town that time has forgotten. We have beautiful buildings downtown, but no night life, no restaurants, and on after 6pm on weekdays and on weekends downtown Hamilton is a ghost town.

I have met a lot of poor people that Hamilton, Ohio seems to care less about. If Hamilton cared they would do anything to bring new jobs to the city. I actually heard from a taxi driver that a Pharmaceutical company came to talk to the city a few years back. They wanted to bring a facility to Hamilton, Ohio that would create jobs and where willing to even sponsor a Bus System. According to the cab driver when he picked up the company representative, and then picked him up again to take back to the hotel. The representative from the City did not even bother to show up, twice. I guess it was very important to the city to have a place for the citizens have a place to work and do better for themselves and their families.

So how many people have had their construction jobs taken by illegal immigration in Butler County? It has seemed for a long time every time I drove past a new housing development all you saw was Mexicans. Maybe it is not a big deal to the people that run the city, they have jobs, a nice house, and ability to feed their families, but what about the family that lives week to week, day by day, and now an illegal immigrant has taken their job and livelihood. To me this shows me the city does not care about the “poor” people in Hamilton, Ohio. So when an illegal immigrant takes a American Citizens job, and the city of Hamilton refuses to do anything to bring new jobs to the city. Or jobs go out to the Township where there is not public transportation to get to, or public transportation to get to Butler Tech to retrain for a new job, what is a man or women supposed to do? It becomes a chain reaction, that increases crime, homelessness, inability to pay child support, and takes a toll on county public services.

My suggestion to Sheriff Jones, because he is the only one who seems to care about the people of Hamilton, Ohio is that Sheriff Jones should run for the office of the Mayor. It would give him the power and ability to change things for the better.

    Sheriff Jones for Mayor!
