287(g) Training has begun!
It’s been a long process but I am very pleased to announce the training of eight of my deputies for Federal “287 g†immigration enforcement powers has officially started today! These deputies have traveled to Hall County, Georgia, for the specialized training under I.C.E. (Immigration and Custom Enforcement) direction.
After completing the training, which is scheduled to end February 1, 2008, these eight deputies, working closely with and under the guidance of ICE, will then be permitted to enforce federal immigration laws. I believe the Butler County Sheriff’s Office to be the first Ohio law enforcement agency to operate under this program.
As is fairly well known, I have championed the cause of local immigration enforcement powers over the last few years. I am pleased we have finally reached this point, and look forward to working with I.C.E. as we transition to these new powers.
Being part of the “287 g†program will not only assist us with local issues and the deportation of illegal aliens process, but can lead to a closer working relationship with I.C.E. and hopefully the housing of more of their prisoners.
As I’ve been promising for some time, we’re finally on our way to making a difference with illegal immigration in Butler County!
Thank you for all you do for this county Mr. Jones. I hope when your deputies return from training in Hall Co. Georgia that they will start enforcing the existing law as it pertains to the unethical business men that persist in employing illegals. Landscapers,Resturants,and Manufacturing to name a few still employ illegals through-out this county. I would go after the numerous employment agencies that provide illegals to these sub standard employers. Eliminate these pimps in the employment world and break the chain between illegals and the employers that claim they didn’t know they were employing illegals.
Its only my opinion , but one of the absolute best ways to reduce the effects of illegals is to eliminate thier ability to work and drive. They will self-deport!
While I agree that there are some emloyers who are egregious violators of the law as it pertains to illegal aliens the real effort needs to be placed on landlords and apartment complex owners who knowingly rent to illegal immigrants. Go after the landlords and apartment complex owners first because if they have no place to stay they will leave and, in turn, employers will loose them as they have no place to stay. Then go after the counterfit document ring they utilize to get benefits and jobs. You dry up the counterfit document ring and arrest a few apartment complex owners and slum lords will be the most effective means to get them out of here! Go after the employers last because if you take the outlined action most illegals will have to leave along with the job they had. If you go after the employers those that do the bare minimum to get by and do not participate in voluntary programs the government offers to check legal status should be the targets along with construction, temp agencies, and landscapers. Next time you are looking at buying a house ask some of the big box builders if you can have an extra 30% off the asking price since they saved so much money using illegal aliens to build their homes and see what they say. If all of us would boycott builders of homes who utilize illegal aliens as employees or contractors that would change in a hurry. I am willing to pay a little more for a home knowing an american layed my drywall and was able to live a middle class life and provide for his family would’nt you!

Two and half years ago, when I saw what was happening in Butler County and watched the media announcements my heart poured out for compassion on the families that were being broken up. It’s funny how things happen. The immigration issue is probably 10 percent of what you do, yet that is what gets all the attention.
Immigrants: They are people first
God created and loved.
They have earnest lives and tragic deaths. How do we treat the undocumented workers in our midst?
With the same compassion and respect we afford other human beings. Some are here to work and return to their home countries, as many do throughout the world. But, if we are fortunate, they will choose to stay, raise their children and make the same contributions all past generations of immigrants have. The presence of brother and sisters from different cultures should be celebrated as a gift. When we enrich each other with our diversity, we become what God envisioned when he told the Israelites: “You too must befriend the alien, for you were once aliens yourselves.” Human respect for our fellow man is a much more uplifting human response to immigrants. Immigrants simply want to survive and provide a future for their families. It is so limited and tortuous now that the only solution for so many long-suffering good people who would rather be legal is to become illegal for the sake of there families survival. We need to reestablish hope instead of fear that has become their primary emotion. We need to respect their rich culture and active faith. I will continue to support their human rights. This country holds the promise of a better way of life for most. What impresses me most, in the Hispanic population is their willingness to work hard for the money that they earn. The pride that they demonstrate in the fact that there families come before all else.
Do you have indoor plumbing?
Do you have running water?
Does your home consist of one room with a dirt floor?
Did you get a chance to complete elementary school?
Do you make more than $4.57 a day?
These are the things we in this country take for granted.
We need to promote peace, justice and respect for our immigrant brothers and sisters. Who are in search for a better life.
Yes these people are Gods children, BUt God seperated all the languages back in genisis. People south of the border are dominating. I know i use to live there. Our goverment isn,t paying for these illigals, you are. IN social funds, such as food stamps, medical bills, housing, Ove 90 billion last year alone just in health care. They find a place to live, with two or three or more and next they get a car, no liisense most of the time and no insurance the rest of the time. our taxes go up, our real estate goes down. There are an estimated 20,000.000 illigals here now. 65% don,t have jobs. With no jobs the steal and kill. I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it is, I thought, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table … everywhere! Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food. After a while, I couldn’t even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be … quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal. Now let’s see …. Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen. Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child’s 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn’t speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to “press one” to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than “Old Glory” are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties. Just my opinion, but maybe it’s time for the government to take down the bird feeder. If you agree, pass it on; if not, continue cleaning up the poop!

Any broken family is the consequence of the squatting trespasser parent’s behavior. Any child with the misfortune to be born of illegal parents on my soil is an illegal also (14 amend. “under the jurisdiction thereof”) and should accompany the family back to their third world dump.

Authority is necessary in order to operate a country or business of any kind. Therefore, the people in positions of authority are part of God’s plan for orderliness in the world. We are directed to submit ourselves to the people who have risen to those positions of directing work to be done. To rebel against that authority is to rebel against God’s order, which will bring God’s judgment on us. Only when that authority would lead us to compromise Christ’s principles should we refuse to submit. Christians need to take this seriously, even though this may be difficult to stand up for the rights of our fellow immigrants under a generation that rejects them. We must remember who has ultimate authority over us. Christ gives us the ultimate example of authority and compassion. We are instructed “He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, but he who honors Him mercy on the needy.†The word of God also says “Execute true justice, show mercy and compassion everyone to his brother. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. Let none of you plan evil in his heart against his brother.â€
Contrary to the majority of U.S. citizens voicing hatred and rejection of our immigrants, we as Christ followers need to stand up and be heard. Help change a life today. Thank you! Millions of Americans support your responsible positition in support of the rights of Legal immigrants and American citizens. An unfair playing field is only part of the problem. The issue of crime ranging from petty to felony is also a serious issue when illegal aliens congregate in large numbers. Worse, when a crime is committed, the ability of law enforcement to track down those law breakers is severely hampered. My hat is off to you for making your citizens and your community safer.

thank you sheriff jones for all that u do for this county and more but im beside my self ive been working for the same company for 18 years now illegals are working there and i can prove it they have worked with me and they have told me but i allways get sent home and they get to work im a sub contracter and when i ask the company i work for social security number or green card number they cant give them to me or they say dont worry about it what am i suppose to do loose my house and everything
U know what sheriff butller you may want to consider that yes in fact some people are breaking the law with corrsing the United States Illegally but the word you are using Alien what does that mean practically you are using this word as been racist is one thing you may not like the people crossing the united States illegally but another thing to be calling them names like if they did not had no fillings.
