Illegals & Ohio
Ohio State Representative Courtney Combs and I are proposing a resolution be introduced in the Ohio House to help ensure Ohio residents voices are heard in Washington regarding proposed changes to federal immigration law. Please read the attached letter and tell me what YOU think! A recent FOX News poll stated that two-thirds of the country SUPPORT the immigration reform bill being debated in congress. Do you support it?

I completely agree with the letter. First and foremost, let’s secure the borders. Once that is done, we can deal with the issue of illegal entry, because until the borders are secured, there will be no way to control illegal entry.
Here is a site that kind of puts the financial burdons of illegal aliens in perspective. I’m so sick of hearing about all they want to do is “pick lettuce”. Take a look at just what this “cheap labor” is REALLY costing all of us!!

I don’t know anyone who feels the answer is to grant amnesty to those here illegally. Having representatives throw up their hands and say there is nothing to be done because they are already here is not an answer. Absolutely, the borders should be closed, but in addition, we need a mechanism to cope with those already here. Without language, culture, borders, we lose our soveigntry, and regretfully, we are headed blithely down that path. It doesn’t make anyone a racist just because they don’t want to welcome illegals with open arms. Anyone who does it the right way, for the right reasons, who assimilates, speaks our language, and respects our laws, EARNS the PRIVLIEGE of being here. Those who do none of those things do not deserve to be here…………..period. The bill as currently written does not reflect the opinion of the majority of the people I know, so I don’t know where these poll numbers are coming from.
Bravo! I agree wholeheartedly with the letter. I have e-mailed Rep. Combs my support. Keep up the good work. We have got to take back our borders and enforce the laws we already have. Otherwise, we will lose our country!

Thank you. I don’t live in Butler County but I do live in Ohio and support you fully. First, I don’t call people illegal or legal immigrants. I feel as though labeling someone as illegal tends to soften the reality of what is really occurring. I label immigrants as either
Law abiding immigrants, those who respect and follow the laws when coming to the US.
Non-law abiding immigrants, those whose first action when coming to the US is to commit a criminal act by not
I live in a neighborhood full of both law abiding immigrants and non-law abiding immigrants. Those who came here with all proper documentation are not the problem. As a matter of fact, they oppose those who did not follow the law. They are proud of the work they did to come here and that they are allowed to immigrate here.
It’s the non-law abiding immigrants that are the problem. We see them raise the hoods of their cars, remove the packages they are transporting and go into their homes. We can not get to our garages because they use the alleys as their own private driveway. We watch as the young 13-14 y/o girls are propositioned as they walk home from school. We ask them at 2 am to please quiet down so we can sleep for work the next day only to be told, “I don’t care” and go back to drinking and partying. We work two jobs to afford our homes only to be afraid to live in them. How can we expect someone to follow the law if their first act in the US was to break the law?
Perhaps if the law makers who are voting on the proposed changes lived for 6 months in a neighborhoods where non-law abiding immigrants live, they would change their mind when voting.

I just read an article about you by Jerry Seper in the Washington Times. You are one fabulous American and I wish there were more like you.
My state, North Carolina, is inundated with illegals and we need someone like you to start the ball rolling to get rid of them. These illegal aliens are doing a tremendous amount of harm to the American way of life and to American towns, cities, and VALUES.

I too agree with you. I have sent letters to both of our Senators, who have betrayed the American people by voting for this immigration debacle. As the last response stated, if these Senators would leave their gated communities and live where we do, they would not be so happy to give law breakers all the rights of law abiding citizens. If this is allowed to continue, it will be the average American Citizen on the front lines of the drug wars, because the Mexican Gangs that are infiltrating our country, are the most dangerous and deadly of all gangs. It will be the Senators, who will have army and Police escorts when they travel. Who will be our escorts? Keep up the Good Work.
Both Ohio Senators, Brown (D-OH), Voinovich (R-OH) are supporting the current version of the Immigration Bill. Apparently the good citizens of Ohio aren’t worried about downward pressure on their wages, or good paying jobs for their children, or the costs incurred by the State Of Ohio, by the illegal aliens.
It is estimated that the federal annual cost, of each illegal alien family, is $19,000 per year. The states estimate that it costs them $8,000 per family. It is estimated that they will cost the Social Security system $2.6 TRILLION Dollars upon retirement, this is their expected net deficit to the system……and the Bill authorizes even more can come into the country to clear the large backlog of people from Mexico, and South America. wanting to come to the U.S., and the Bill authorizes that, every year, even more can come in as temporary workers, and even more can come in underneath even another visa system.

I enjoyed your article in the NY Times and as a retired Texas attorney would suggest you may want to look at you state’s penal code of “identity theft” and its appliction to documents used by illegals to gain employment. In Texas you already have a “jail felony” law that could be used in prosecution of illegals.

I’m a Washington State resident for 30 years. I was born in Hamilton County Ohio in 1961. I have to say, I’m very proud of what is going on in Ohio! We have so many illegals living and working here in our state. they are NOT picking lettuce. They are doing construction jobs that Americans would love to have, they are doing a lot of high paying jobs now. The cops here let these guys go during traffic stops if there isn’t an interpreter handy. That’s just wrong. I think the Fed’s should pay Ohio for illegal inmates. I think the same should be done here in Washington State. It won’t, but I’m going to fight hard to see it happen. Thanks for making me proud to be from OHIO!

To the citizens in Ohio and especially Sheriff Jones and State Representative Combs, I applaud you for your valiant efforts and I hope you succeed.
You have to take control now before Ohio ends up like California. I live in a town near the Mexican border that has always had issues with illegals. Our city council has stated that it is not prudent or fiscally responsible to try to pass laws that will combat illegal immigration (mainly due to potential lawsuits from the ACLU). We have succumbed and, although it hasn’t been stated, our town is in fact a “Sanctuary City”.
There are people living in illegal encampments on private property in our neighborhoods as well as surrounding towns. We are told there is nothing the town nor property owners can do about the problem because it is a federal issue. Our houses could get burned down if one of their illegal fires gets out of control. Our water ways are getting contaminated by the build up of feces left by the illegals living in these encampments. Wild life is being killed and I no longer hear the yelping from the coyotes that live in the hills.
These illegals also publicly drink before being picked up at day labor sites, and then work on people’s homes. Don’t be fooled by anyone who states - “We take care of your homes”. Would you pick up a drunk and have him work on your drywall installation?
What are the citizens doing you might ask? Well, we write and call our senators as well as the President. Not sure if they understand that it is LEGAL citizens that have put them in power. Not ILLEGALS! Well, at least I hope that’s the case. In California we don’t have to show any identification in order to vote. Thanks th the Voter’s Right Act of 1992.
We also protest in front of places like Home Depot where illegals stand to get jobs without filling out 1099’s. It’s beginning to work, but we do have some opposition from a woman who came here on a F-1 Visa back in the 60’s (from Guatemala) and was inspired by Chavez’s work for migrant worker’s rights. If someone like this pops up in your town defuse the situation immediately. Don’t pass her or him off as harmless.
We are also fortunate to have Camp Pendelton in our county and there’s a wonderful couple who formed http://www.HirePatriots.com. If any of the towns in Ohio have issues with day labor sites, have a military base and the patriots need help supporting their families, start a group like this to combat the problem.

I agree with all your actions. Why don`t you load all of them on a bus and drop them off at state line,have the next state do the same,they could end up in Mass. Sen Kennedy,or Ar,Sen Mc Cains back yard. Might be interesting?

Sherriff Jones and Rep. Combs I appreciate your dedication to the citizens of Ohio. Although Rep. Combs is not my Representative, both of you will have the support of my family for any iniatitves, petitions or other methods brought forth for the betterment of Ohioans.
Illegal is just that, nothing more and nothing less. Crossing the border unlawfully is just the first of many laws that are broken, yet our system turns a blind eye and deaf ear to the citizens they are obligated to protect. To say i am outraged at the way the majority of our Government is handling the situation is an understatement. To many of my friends and family, the way our politicians handle this immigration reform issue will dictate for whom our future votes will be cast.

No. I do not support such closed-minded hyperbole. It’s people like you that are causing so much damage to the United States. Because of your ridiculous arguments and proposed measures, every day that you waste your time preaching about “illegals” is a day that could have been spent helping to make our country more competitive. Do you really think that alienating other countries, including our neighbors who represent a lifeline in our widening trade deficit, is good policy? Get smart people and learn a new language! I read about your resolution in the Pulse Journal with relief. I have written both of our Senators about my opposition to S. 1348 with little success. Thank you for having the courage to take on this fight and represent the views of the silent majority. I would encourage you to add one thing, in addition to requiring a secure border, law enforcement, employer enforcement, and language assimilation. If we would work to end birthright citizenship, there would not be the incentive to come her illegally. We are one of the only countries in the world that even has such a thing. Once born here, that entitles the new citizen and its family to our wealth of social services. Additionally, our lawmakers want to extend Social Security benefits to these new citizens to which amnesty is being offered. The new bill wouldn’t even include an exclusion for convicted felons and previously deported illegal immigrants. It is hard to even digest all that is wrong with the current proposals on which our Congress is wanting to vote. Have you ever considered running against Voinovich when he comes up for reelection? We need a strong, courageous, committed voice. Thank you for taking up and continuing this fight.

Let me get this straight: Gov. Janet Napolitano signs the new bill to outlaw businesses from hiring illegal aliens and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce calls it a crippling blow to Arizona business.
Wake up, Arizona businesses. The people of Arizona have spoken, and they are telling you to hire people who are in this county legally.

Good afternoon Sheriff Jones; I plan to come in and talk to you one day soon about my sister who bless her heart who lives in a nice mobile home park for 14 years raising 2 children on her own, works 2 jobs . One day as i came in to see her i was totally shocked by how this once place that was nice . Looked like crap there was fights on one corner and guess who was in them (whites squaring off with the mexican teens) as i drove futher in i then saw homes that were once clean and nice were now pink, yellow, bright blue I thought I was looking into a easter basket i couldn’t help myself but start laughing. I pulled up at my sisters home and there just all around her. she said 2 families didn’t seem to bother her but the one right next to her was very annoying and him and his family seemed to provoke her, Now we don’t take the law into our own hands but we were taught you stand and fight especially if your in the right! and it worrys me so that she has to put up with there crap all the time. she can’t move she barely gets by as it is and she loves her nice home. I really believe you should do some investigating out there. you just might find alot of things going on.what was really frightening was we were driving around and she was showing me some things when we saw a hispanic young man with a pit bull and a lady with her kids walking down the street and we sat there and watched him try and scare her by sic-ing that dog after her. thank god it was on a leash but what if he had gotten loose? first of all i live in hamilton ohio in a hispanic comunity and they do care and do respect you hell i lived next to black poeple that say i dont care and drive up and down my street drunk and speeding he is known by law inforcement has no licens no insurance and they dont do nothing about that but all they want to blame everthing on hispanics and yes sheriff jones does call them illigal immigrants they do not use the alley as a drive way and they dont transport drugs in and out of there car i am so sick of listening to this they dont bother any one leave them alone they live in fear just to try and make a dollar for there children do you think they chose to be born in that country no yeah we was born here with a choice they was not half of these people that run there mouth dont know nothing about the hispanic comuntiy and they dont care i have lived in hamilton for 5 years now and know 90% of the hispanic comunity ther is bad in good in everyone why dont they try looking at americans too and handling that heck my mother ran a stop sign right in front of a hamilton police officer and he did nothing when we came back he was still sitting in the same spot and still did not stop her i bet a million dollars if it was a spanish person they would have pulled him/her over! i was driving down the street listening to spanish music and a sheriff gave me a really bad look made a uturn and fallowed me untill i turned im like look i am american and just becouse he thought i was spanish he turned around i got pulled over not to long ago and i was driving with no licens he looked in my car asked me nothing looked at my fiance and with a additude asked him for his green card and if he knew is ss# what about that is right i was the law breaker not him leave them alone they dont bother no one get a life

i’ worked for that company and yeah ,you are right they are crazy hiring them back after the raid to be honest,they come back the next day.they have about two buses full of black people that they was going to work from a temp service but out of no where ,there was about 50 latinos and honest the god they told us that that they don’t need us that wee don’t know what to do. and yeah the mgr or supervisor what ever he is he told us that he was sorry and he will call us if he needs us they are all illegals this is funny i knew a guy name ricardo he was about 17 18 years old and after the raid his name is brian so tell me people sheriff what is that there is something up helloooooooo!!!!

In the last year, there has been an EXPLOSION of illegals in our county and I want to know why they have TARGETED our county.
Illegal aliens are PREDATORS. They PREY on America’s kindness, they PREY on our welfare system, they PREY on our job market, they PREY on our addictions, they PREY on EVERYTHING American.

I would things a little different. 1 I would make it a felony to sell autos, give jobs, sell or rent property to illigals.2 secure our borders with national guard. 3 When caught, have illigals working off their fines and the cost of transporting then back across the border.4 they came here with nothing, when they leave they take nothing. auction their autos, land and property, money going to law enforcement.5 Make it illigal to send money by wire or money orders.Their not citizens they dont need our money.6when first caught they should be finger printed, locked up and sentenced to a length of hard labor to cover their costs of food and shelter and cost of transporting them back. 7 second time their caught whey could work to pay a 6 month fine 8 all employers should recieve a mandantory 6 months in jail for hiring them 2nd time the company owners, president, or top executives should stay in jail for a year. I know it probably sounds harsh but this problem has been out of control for a long time. I heard that over 50 % of the mexicans in my state of texas are illigal.Shame on us and God help our children
Way to foster ignorance and hatred. Go Butler County! I cannot image the majority of citizens so fired up about this issue have any idea about the social injustice, history, markets, or culture that brings Hispanics here.
It’s deeply complex- and requires human compassion instead of hysteria and fright. Read a book, watch a movie, talk to a Latino or someone who ISN’T North American. Expand your worldview. Get to know someone. And- wow- you might want to learn another language. The good old USA- “most poweful nation in the world”- where most citizens can’t even navigate English very well! I doubt our racism and linguistic ignorance will help solidify our country.
Help your country by leaving it and serving those who need it. Then maybe you’ll understand.
