Sheriff Jones — February 15, 2007, 5:49 pm

My trip to D.C.

As many of you know I, just returned from the nations capital (and for those that don’t know.) This is where it all begins… I met with the Assistant Director of Homeland Security and the supervisor of ALL ICE investigations along with approximately twelve (12) Sheriffs from across the U.S. who are on the National Sheriff’s Immigration Sub-Committee. Also present was one person from Senator Kennedys staff representing the Senate, and one representative from the House of Representatives who are drafting legislation for the House and Senate on immigration.

It appears that Senators Kennedy and McCain are going to introduce a new Bill jointly on immigration within the year. You probably figure out from here what that means…

Myself and several Sheriffs voiced our concerns on border issues, our respective county issues, and suggested halting LEGAL immigration of 1.2 MILLION people annually to this country until the government gets a handle on ILLEGAL immigration!

What do you think of the idea?

Sheriff Rick Jones

I trust you Sheriff. I am behind you 100 percent. I think that some kind of shock is necessary to let the government see what you are dealing with day in and day out. I am personally sick and tired of the stampede of illegals into this county. I would like to see some significant changes in the way America does things. We are being overwhelmed in all of the states with MS13 gangs. I dont think everyone is aware of this. That gang is the worst of the worst. They are known to be the most violent people in the world and they are coming into this country illegally EVERYDAY. Their gang tags have been seen in Butler County. California is being taken over by this gang. We have to do something and do something now. We cant allow our cities, and now our rual areas, to be taken over. We cant just overlook this severe problem because it isn’t a popular discussion. Sheriff, I really want to thank you. It is nice to know that someone out there cares to fix this problem.

    Sherriff Jones,
I feel that your recommendation to halt legal immigration is totally out of line. I am a legal immigrant who came with my family as a young boy to the USA and subsequently worked my way through a four year degree and served two tours in Iraq wth honor.

Your suggestion sounds so draconian that it could have come from a KKK Wizzard. You are the sherriff 0f a small county, not the emperor of the world !!

Sorry Sheriff. I’m a big fan of yours, and I support you most of the time. But on this proposal, I must respectfully disagree. Cutting off legal immigration in order to stem the tide of illegal immigration is like cutting of the distribution of legal prescription medication in order to stop the distribution of illegal drugs. In fact, it would likely make the situation worse, because the void made by cutting legal immigration would be filled with new and better funded illegal aliens. I’m all for a get-tough policy on illegal aliens (AND THOSE BUSINESSES THAT SUPPORT OR ENCOURAGE THEM), but let’s not punish those that follow the rules. Those are the people we want here.

Thank you Sheriff Jones !! As a 3rd generation resident of Los Angeles California & watching my community turn into a 3rd world mess, I appreciate your vocal displeasure on what our country is evolving into. I whole heartedly agree that it is time to put a hold on immigration until we get a handle on this invasion. But, unfortunatly this current crop of D.C personnel wants that border open, by putting Border Patrol & Law enforcement in prison on trumpted up charges, creating loopholes in our banking system, along with hundreds of other rewards for immigration lawbreakers. It is an up hill battle & we Americans of all background’s are ready to put that genie back in the bottle !Thank’s to Honorable Men like you.

    Godbless,

You Go Sheriff Jones, Thank You for cleaning up Our County of Illegals,If being in America is So important to them then let them get here the right way.And while your cleaning up the Employers who hire Illegals,Clean up Property owners who RENT to them also,They’re no better than employers,If landlords are checking references on Hispanics like they use to do reference checks on me when I was there tenant then they know enough about them to know if theyre Legals or Illegals. So hold Landlords no less accountable than the business owners. And should you ever decide to Move on up Sheriff Jones,I’d vote you in for PRESIDENT every time you could run.Thank You and God Bless You.

Thank you for your attempt to try to bring reason to Congress. I suspect that they money that they are bringing in from big business is more important than the people that they are suppose to represent. Keep up the good work.

Sheriff Jones what will you do when they do leave to other counties, and all the industry that they have brought to butler ,when everyone is gone and there is no more tax money to pay your big salary

    Mr Jones,
God Bless Americans like you. A man of backbone who in NOT afraid to speak up and stand up. We need way more people in public office like like you,

I 100% support your stance on this and believe most Americans do as well. Our system is so broken NOBODY knows which end is up. I actually support a 10 year moratorium of all immigration until we can fix our system and take a hard look at the criteria for just who we are letting in here in the first place. Please keep up the good fight!

I agree 100%. Drastic times call for drastic measures. Personally, I feel that over 1 million legal immigrants annually overboard. To even the casual observer it is quickly becoming apparent that we’re having an serious assimiliation of immigrants problem in this country. 1.2 million legal + 1 million illegal = 2.2 immigrants annually. Simply math alone will tell you that these numbers are outrageous. Heck, that’s over 20 million immigrants in a 10 years span (not including their children) and well over 100 million in 50 years. Someone had better do the math, and quick!!!

While reading the Cincinnati Enquirer recently, I came across a letter to Editor from a LEGAL immigrant from Cuba.

In the letter she explains how upsetting it is to her to see people ILLEGALLY flowing through our borders and not going through the LEGAL immigration process as she did in 1969.

It is interesting to see this issue through the eyes of someone who is a LEGAL immigrant.

The letter can be read here. Note that you have to answer a few simple guestions to gain access.

    Dear Sherrif Jones,

    Pure ignorance is your constituency.
You should have little trouble manipulating these people to whatever evil is guiding you.
And I foresee power in your future.
I also see you splitting hell wide open someday cause you are not doing the work of the Lord.
Don’t worry you’ll come to like it there.
    You better pray on it.

    Kind Regards,
    Andy

It is true, most legal immigrants abhor illegal immigrants that circumvented the system.

Sheriff Jones, I live in Clermont County but have land in Clinton County near Blanchester. I remember an incident where you had to let go some illegals based on ?????. If I do remember correctly….it was about profiling.. Please understand that I am or never intend to say you were doing that….. just how screwed up the law seemed to be in this case. Can you explain the situation as there are concerns of a business in Blanchester that it is said has many working for them. I just wish to forward said info to the people there.
    Thank you in advance

Sheriff Jones, as a 20 yr veteran of the US Border Patrol, I take my hat off to you. It takes a big man today to stand up to l the ACLU, LULAC, Chicano’s por la Causa, etc. There is nothing racist about what you are doing. You are only trying to enforce laws we already have on the books about returning Illegal Aliens back to their proper home countries.

Most Americans that promote or encourage helping Illegals have no idea of their impact on our country. On any given night, from Florida to California, no less than 10,000 people EVERY single night are attempting to enter our country without inspection.
If that is not an invasion, you tell me what is!
    Mexico is laughing at us.

When Mexico catches ilegals from Guatamela or El Salvador , they are fined, and imprisoned, and sometimes flat out beaten and robbed. Go to Mexico, demand to have free hospitalization, government assisted housing, food stamps, voting in the English language. March down the streets waving the American flag demanding your rights. You wouldn’t get farther than your first step out in the street before you were arrested or beaten by the locals.

But we have been demoralized and made timid by all the different minority groups accusing us of being racist anytime anybody even thinks of saying anything negative aboiut illegals in our country. Our prisons are holding thousands of illegals for murders, rapes, drug smuggling, child molesters, you name it.

    I’m all for L

    Nelson,
Why are you even comparing us to other nations. There is a reason why we are America. We are America because it is the land of opportunity. We hold our own laws. It irks me when people try to compare us to other nations, because we are not them. Concentrate on our faults and where they stem from. Maybe put pressure on the corporations that knowingly hire illegal immigrants. Oh, but wait,
those same corporations funnel money for political advances. Well, isn’t that a conflict of interest?

Being demoralized, made timid and accused of being racist? Did you by chance see that YouTube video that JD posted? Here you have citizens (who’s to say they’re not?) expressing their freedom of speech and all I saw was some guy with a camera shouting that the protesters where terrorists and telling them to go back to Mexico. So, yes, I would say that was being a tad bit racist on the camera man’s part. I’m sure someone will eventually bring up the flag thing. How long have people been burning flags of all ethnicities?

Again, stop pointing fingers at immigrants and start pointing fingers at those who allow it.

Thank you, Sheriff for being a true American. “We The People” have lost control of our government by the greedy, selfish, and self-serving legislators that are hell-bent on a “career” in congress, and the good of our nation be damned!
The unAmerican businesses that are hiring illegal aliens are being supporteded by the Chamber of Commerce, and our “career congress” is allowing this because of the re-election “gifts” received.
You are pursuing these businesses, and you are to be commended. As congress continues to bury their heads in the sand, we can obtain attrition through enforcement of the current laws…….and we won’t have the expense of deportation: without jobs, they will go back ‘home’ on their own.
