Here is the story…
A major Butler County Sheriff’s Office operation culminated last night in what is believed to be the largest fraudulent document bust ever in the State of Ohio and possibly the nation. The fraudulent documents seized included:
• Permanent Resident Alien Cards (Green Cards)
• Social Security Cards
• State of Ohio ID Cards
• Thousands of “blanks†used to create the fraudulent documents
If all these materials were processed and sold, they could easily have an estimated street value of more than $500,000.
Arrests were made in the City of Hamilton’s Fourth Ward after undercover officers purchased several fraudulent Social Security and Permanent Resident Alien cards. The three men arrested are illegal aliens and now face more than 12 felony charges.
The men have been identified as Nicolas Juan Santiago originally of Mexico, Ernesto Escalante-Bartolon originally of Guatemala, and Gregorio Cruz originally of Mexico.

Here we are in the middle of the U.S. and we have uncovered one of the largest fake ID operations in the country for some time. It is totally out of control and I believe one agency can make a difference as we have in Butler County, Ohio. I’ve always known that fraudulent IDs were being made for illegal aliens but I didn’t expect to them to be made BY illegal aliens and so far from the borders!! Looks like it’s time to get even tougher. Stay tuned.

I have only one complaint.
I had a person of mexican origin inquire about a job with my company and presented to me a permanent residence card and a card which followed the same format as a SS card….
Later that day I called the non-emergency # at the Bulter County Sheriff’s Office and was transfered to an ICE agent’s voicemail I left a message detailing my question about how do I verify that the documents are real ??
I believe that a week is long enough to wait on a return phone call regarding this issue..I am still waiting for info….Please advise.

I think it is funny that sheriff Jones is comparing the fraudulent document bust to the terrorist attack on 9/11. First of all the terrorist didn’t come to our country illegally they came here with visas our government gave them, so they could learn how to fly our planes. We didn’t teach them how to land the plane or even how to take off in it. I think for him to compare the two was ignorant there is no comparasion there. Undocumented workers come here to work and make a better life for themselves not to fly our planes into our buildings and kill Americans…… Sheriff Jones is just trying to get more support for his racist views… He is always talking about boycotting companies that hire illegals why don’t he look around almost every new house or building that has been built in the last 12+ years has been done by illegals. Maybe he should boycot his own house it too was built by illegals….. Hey sheriff Jones leave them hard working Americans ALONE…. Not everyone can be lucky like you and sit on their BUTTS and do nothing, but make people thinks he is….. you have your hand in too many pots one day it might get burned……..

I know for a fact that there was not one,I repeat not one illegal immigrant on this job site during its construction. Sheriff Jones sets an example others should follow.He told his builder he would not tolerate any illegal immigrants working on his new home .The builder acceped the challange.This also proves that builders CAN I repeat Can build new homes,not employ illegal immigrrants,and make a profit.Sheriff I respectfully rest my case

Technically JT, Lisa is correct in referring to the illegal immigrants as “Americans”, she did not specify “which” America. The UN includes Mexico in Central or Middle American, Northern America refers to the northern countries and territories of North America: Canada, the United States, Greenland, Bermuda, and St. Pierre and Miquelon.
No, Lisa is very incorrect as are you. It’s common knowledge that when the term ‘American’ is used it’s in reference to people who reside legally within the United States. While Mexico is part of the North American continent, no one refers to residents of Mexico as being ‘Americans’ but rather as ‘Mexican.’ Your logic escapes me.

Fake ID’s are used for a lot more illegal activity than just gaining entrance to the country.
I’m sorry JT if you are confused by my logic, I was only responding to your response to Lisa regarding the correct term for Americans versus Illegals. I was referring to who “could” actually be considered American (North, Middle or Central). It’s funny, that people say that this whole issue is not racist, I included ALL areas that are considered “America” by definition, you only targeted Mexicans as not being American. There are a lot of illegal immigrants in Butler County that are NOT Hispanic.

I do not understand the logic of all the fear when it comes to illegal aliens. To make the record clear, I know of at least 500+ illegals who do pay taxes and do pay into social security. However, as far as receiving the benefits of social security or tax refunds, they never get to see them. I understand that there are some that are not paying taxes, but as I said, there are at least 500 in this area that are, and where is that money going? Is it being hidden from the general public? YES, SIR!!! We constantly hear that illegal aliens do not pay taxes, and thus should not be allowed to send their children to our public schools and should not be able to receive medical trearment. Well, I’m sorry to inform you all, but there are millions of illegal aliens that are paying taxes and the government is benefitting from this. This is not the only problem with Sheriff Jones’ philosophy that I see. Jones, YOU ARE A RACIST!!! Do I see you looking at the Dominican people that look African American? Many of us have made the statement of how much is paid to the IRS and SSA from illegal aliens, however no one will touch this, and answer us. WE have proof. I have given examples about the welfare system and the free or reduced healthcare at the hospitals, regarding how much non citizens use the system versus citizens. NO ONE WILL ASK FOR THIS, they are being led by boss hogg and do not ask any questions.
1) Good job Sheriff. You are the one politician I have voted for in recent years that actually does what he promises to do.
2) Amy is right that people from South of our border are still “Americans”. JT is incorrect suggesting it’s common knowledge that “Americans” refers to U.S. citizens. It may seem like common knowledge here, but in South American countries, it is common to refer to people on both continents as “American”.
3) Profiling Hispanics when searching for illegal aliens is no more racist than profiling white males for serial killings. It is simply logical.
4) Arresting people who break our laws (whether you agree with the law or not) is not racist either. It is a necessary action if we are to maintain an orderly and civil society.
You can spin it however you like but in the North American continent there are 3 native nationalities. Residents of Mexico are called Mexicans, residents of the USA are called Americans and those from Canada are Canadians. Refer to a Canadian as an “American” and wait and see how quickly they correct you about your assumption that because they live on the North American continent that they are actually ‘Americans’.
How understanding this makes me racist is beyond me.
Yet according to the mindset of some of the posters here, they themselves are racist because being a minority myself, it’s impossible for me to be a racist.
Its not impossible for you to be racist JT, the definition of racism is a form of discrimination based on race, especially the belief that one race is superior to another. Racism may be expressed individually and consciously, through explicit thoughts, feelings, or acts, or socially and unconsciously, through institutions that promote inequality between races. Just because someone is a minority does not automatically make them lack the ability to be racist.
According to a few posters here, enforcing our nations laws makes you a racist. Unreal.

When it comes to it what makes Sheriff Jones and his department racist is the fact that they will be targeting people for their looks. I am sure that he nor his officers will be looking out for anglo europeans, i.e. Lithuanians, Russians or even Canadians (to mention a few) who are here working illegally on over extended visas. Will they be stopping and asking for documents from people who look African American but are from other countries. Will you be stopping Asians as well? Illegal immigration has been ignored for years by this country, why? becuse it benefits from the people who are here undocumented. If it did not, I am sure that politicians would have addressed the issue a long time ago. Contrary to popular belief illegals do not work for less money than able Americans; they work for the same amounts or in some cases more. Even Wendy’s pays more than the minimum wage to people who might be undocumented. Why? because abled Americans choose not to take those jobs.

My boyfriend who is here illegally works for a roofing company, gets paid good money, has taxes taken out of his check, he went to a CPA to file for taxes, guess what. He overpaid the IRS by $1763, he cannot receive a refund because the SSN he uses does not match what is on file. Even if half of the illegals here pay into the IRS, if they are using a false SSN, they cannot receive any money back if they overpay. He has never been arrested, never been in court, he has paid taxes when he bought his truck(s), paid for the license & registration, pays for insurance (he has better limits than I do) pays his bills on time, when he went to the ER for an x-ray on his foot, he paid for it. He didn’t apply for financial assistance even though he qualified. He spends a lot of his money in Butler County at the stores & restaurants, buying gas.
Where I currently work, I work with about 95% foreigners, about 65% are from the middle east, not one is Hispanic, some of them are now here illegally because of their visa status. Some live in Butler County, maybe I should notify Boss Hogg so he can go & pick them up.

Yeah, Lisa, I was wondering the same thing. Why is Mary so angry, she has to resort to name calling (so much so that she gets editted)? No one on here wants to admit that there might be something more to the truth then what they are being led to believe. For your information Mary, I have also gone to college & graduated, I luckily do need to work only 1 job because I get paid well, I don’t have to worry about drywalling or plumbing or anything like that, my boyfriend helps me with that. I have never had to be on the system to get by, but rather was an employee of the system. Mary thinks Americans made this country so great but what she don’t realize is that our ancestors came here from different countries that why English is made up from all kinds of different languages…….We have had illegal aliens here for many years they are the ones that has built MOST of Hamilton and the Tri-state area…..almost every new shopping center, motel, or housing complex was built by aliens (some illegal and some not)……. I also thinks it funny that people talk about the economy but yet Butler County is 3.5 million dollars or something like that over budget, and still yet Sheriff Jones wants to use want money we don’t have to get rid of the illegal aliens…..people act like he is not doing this for headlines or re-election but where was he all the years he wasn’t sheriff?????? Lisa, I believe you have no idea what you are talking about and I also question your connection to the real world. The people who made this country great were from different countries and they came together and fought for their independence. They created Americanism and their situation cannot be compared to the current wave of immigration. As for most of the tri-state being built by illegal aliens is ridiculous. Almost all of Hamilton was built before 1970; this is long before the current illegal alien influx. The same could be said of Cincinnati where most buildings and homes were constructed before 1980. The same for Dayton, Covington, etc… Another piece of information for you is that Sheriff Jones has been in the Sheriff’s Office long before now. It is common knowledge that he was the Chief for the former Sheriff and played a key role in the building of a new state of the art jail facility which was an enormous accomplishment. And this new Jail was built with room to spare because it was planned for the future. If you keep up with the news you know that the extra room is being rented to other counties and is actually making money for Butler County which helps keep the budget balanced. By the way the county budgets each your individually so being as it is the beginning of the year the county’s budget would be balanced. Now as far as spending more money by keeping illegals in jail the Sheriff is doing the opposite, his people have been given permission to conduct deportations and they are in currently in training to learn how to do so. As far as having kids with and illegal, your kids are legal citizens and they would have to go visit their father in his country until he could immigrate to this country the legal way or you and your children could become citizens of his country. Don’t overcomplicate things and don’t go on a rant if you have not taken the time to educate yourself about the subject at hand.

If you had said “most of the new buildings” I would have been less argumentative but you still would have been wrong. “A lot of the new construction in this area is being done by illegals” would be an accurate statement. Much of the low level building work is done by illegals but the majority of construction as a whole is done by Americans. There are plenty of American builders and construction workers out there.

It’s amazing to me how some people such as Lisa, will always try to find a racial agenda even in the huge bust like this of illegal aliens making and selling fake documents to other illegal aliens! What part of Illegal is not understood by you Lisa? These people are not Legal Americans, these people are invaders of our land, who disrespects our laws and other American Legal citizens, and legal immigrants who came here the right way. After working as in an HR setting for years, I can assure you that the ONLY way one can *pay into social security* or virtually ANY sort of tax is to HAVE A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. Period. End of story. If you think it isn’t necessary - try it. (It’s kind of like trying to make a bank deposit - without an account number to put it IN to)
As for the taxes they are paying - heaven help whomever’s social security number they are using. The IRS does NOT take kindly to unreported income - even if taxes were paid on it. So - if the legal American makes, pays taxes on and reports $30,000, and the ILLEGAL ALIEN using the same social security number fraudulently makes another $30,000 but NEVER reports it in the form of filing taxes, the IRS considers that $30,000 UNREPORTED INCOME. Sounds silly, but it’s true. Call the IRS and ask if it’s ok to pay taxes on income but NOT report it in the form of reporting it. Penalties, fees and fines, OH MY!
Sooner or later, it WILL catch up with the people whose Social Security numbers are being fraudulently used. (Statistically, I would imagine a percentage of those affected by SS fraud by illegal aliens will be their ardent supporters - I call that poetic justice.)
As for someone stating that they only use *fake* social security numbers- the logic does not hold. First, we must assume they know which are fake numbers and which are not. Even if they did know and they use only numbers that are currently not in use, it stands to reason that someday, somewhere, that number WILL in the future be issued to SOMEONE legitimately. It’s a numbers game -and let’s face it, there are only so many combinations of XXX-XX-XXXX possible.

I was in Torreon, Mexico on a business trip several weeks ago. I came back with an understanding of at least WHY some of them come here illegally.
The prevailing wage here for a particular job that I deal with frequently is about $25.00 per hour…there, a man doing the exact same job was making the equivalent of about $14.50 per day, even if he worked 16 hours that day.
I absolutely agree that they should not come here illegally, and it frustrates me no end that our government appears to have their own agenda (as if that were anything new) and tends to look the other way.

The other interesting thing that I saw there were brochures put out by the Mexican government dealing with the subject of crossing the border illegally. It said something to the effect of, “Look, crossing the border illegally into the U.S.A. is not recommended….HOWEVER, if you do choose to do so, you would probably have the most success at THIS particular location. Make sure you pack plenty of water for drinking in the desert. If you are caught, do not attempt to run. State your citizenry and seek help from the nearest Mexican Consulate.” Yadda-yadda-yadda…
The point is, their government actually gives them step-by-step instructions on how to do it effectively, all the while saying that those reading the material should not attempt it. What a joke!!
Considering the actions of some of these illegals, it wouldnt surprise me if some of them were criminals in their own country who came here to try to escape justice…or maybe their own government even told them to basically “get out.”
Another thing that bothers me is this. When my wife and I applied for our marriage license, we both had to be present, with ID and with proof that our former marriages to others were null and void…ie divorce decree, whatever.
But I personally know a woman who married an illegal alien. He had NO ID whatsoever. No proof of who he was or where he came from. He wasnt even present when the marriage license was issued. The only thing the clerk had to go on was the womans word that he was who he said he was, and all the woman had was his word.
What the heck is that????? The man could have been an ax murderer for all anyone knew of him.
From what I understand, he has since been arrested and is now awaiting deportation.
I have read alot of the blogs on this site. Alot are pro and con for illegal aliens. So, this comment is for neither, but information for both. It is documented that illegals heavily burden state welfare sytems in all states via false documents. An illegal alien in this country kills someone every three seconds. Illegals do pay taxes, that is correct. Usually under a false or assumed social security number. Therefore, when it was yours, or someone you know social security number that was used,whos’ social security retirement just got messed up? Cleaning up that mess will cost the victim a minimum of $2500.00 to clear up. Illegals in essence are a part of the mainstream in this country. They will eventually bankrupt this country, or at the very least spark outcry in the future. Oops, did I ever say Mexican Illegals, no, I did not. Illegals come to the USA from all over the world. Not just from Mexico, perhaps the ones who cry, who has anything to fear from an illegal, they are only hear to work. O.K., the Russian mobster that peddles drug on your street, who by the way could be your neihbor. Or, maybe the Iranian who is waiting for word to take action against our country. WE, YOU, don’t know?. If we don’t start somewhere, then maybe well just end up at the cemetery together burying a loved one that was killed by an “Illegal”. Because they did not cross legally, so they are not an immigrant, they are an ILLEGAL ALIEN. Maybe thier drugs killed your loved one? Maybe they did it themselves?, Maybe the fake document they sold to someone to be here did it? I don’t know. However, per the cases that I have personally seen as an officer, drugs are quite extensive. But not to the point that they have exceeded ILLEGALS raping, or molesting children. This occurs are the higher rate of probably about 1 per .5 seconds. Just something to think about. As far as groups like the ACLU. They need to remove the AMERICAN part out of their title, because they have long forgotten who they were suppose to fight for.
To anonymous on 1-25-07. Your issue od ssn’s being fake. How many illegals do you think steal wallets, purses, documents, etc. to get a ssn? Alot do. Please be sure to ask the victims about anomoly’s on their ssn record. You are right in a very small way though. I used to work as a welfare worker. How many ILLEGALS have children in this country? Lets say alot, o.k. How many of those children are citizens? Let’s say all of them. Now, what are the names of those children????? Give up yet? It is very easy. In numerous cases, if the child is a girl, the child is given the identical name of the mother. If the child is a boy, the same as the father. Why pray tell??????? Because when that SSN card comes in the mail, mom and dad now have an official valid SSN card to work under. How many times do you think I had to tell a parent, after completing a state check of the SSN, that their 2 year old child has considerable income. How many times do you think the parent stated, yes I know. A LOTTTTTTTTTT. Once you have worked in the positions of a state assistance program, local law enforcement and federal law enforcement, you do not have the facts. The only real way to know the facts is to have worked in those positions which allowed a first hand perspective. ILLEGAL ALIENS from whatever country, will ultimately be our undoing in the long run. When your child competes for a scholarship and loses to someone else who was in the country illegal using false documents, let me know how it feels, and yes, that has happened. I only hope that an illegal does not rape, murder, or molest someone you know, or commit any other felony crime against you. but if they did, how would you react. Will only one citizen in this country change at a time, at a critical moment in their life??????????????????????
How come you only judge illegals when they are doing bad things. Judge them while they are doing their jobs. Jobs that you DONT want! Latinos do it better faster and cheaper. If the country had the balls to deport immigrants they would. But they dont. They dont because they need them. There is a quote out there on the internet saying “Damn illegals, if it wasnt for them i could be out picking fruits instead of being a lieing CEO.” or something close to that matter. So why dont you just shut up and get used to Latinos because you “Americans” did the same thing to Natives. So you guys are the actual illegals here.
