To The Ones Locked Out

This is for the working men and women of AK Steel who have been locked out. I want you to know this old sheriff hasn’t forgotten about you. I’ll be glad when you all go back to work and once again we show the world that the best steel comes from Middletown, Ohio.

Your Sheriff,
Richard K. Jones

As a spouse of a locked out AK Steel employee, I want to thank you for the ad you placed in the newspaper and your comments to the news media. Your support has been a great “lift” to the spirits of the lockouts and their families.
Your character speaks for itself and it makes us happy to have someone like you as our Sheriff.

I would like to thank you for your support. It means alot to me and my family, including my union brothers and sisters. It means alot that you are one of the few elected officials to publicly support us. Thank you again.

    Sheriff,

I own and administer the Rumor Mill website, and apologize for you being banned. I’m sure you can appreciate we try to run a tight ship there, and wanted to make sure things were on the up and up.

We appreciate all you have done for us, and hope to see you back in the Rumor Mill.

    Sheriff Jones,
I was once told by an retireing supervisor at AK to be very carefull with this new management that had just taken over as AK STEEL.He spoke with honesty and cautioned me about how evil[this was the exact word that he used} this new company can be. I considered him a good friend, and now I know what he was talking about. This Midd. Works Management Team as they liked to be called, like making up the rules as they may.Too many lives have been cancelled out by these kids who yhink they know what they are doing. I appreciated your letter in the paper, and would be very happy to donate to your coffers.Let me know when and where one can donate. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter.

Thank you so much for your support. You supporting us and coming out in the public like you did gave all of us hope that someone cares and sees our side of it. My brother is a detective for Fairfield Township and has always praised you, i can see why now.

Thanks again and God Bless you Sheriff.

Thank you very much Sheriff Jones for standing up for working families in Middletown. As an elected official, it is always easy to take the “politically correct” route and not offend anybody. To merely gladhand and smile before the camera. Gosh knows, you could do that for years and always be Sheriff.

You on the other hand have chosen the higher road of doing what is right rather than merely hiding under a desk. It is how you run your office as well. Bold and unafraid.

Thank you (and your fine deputies) for serving Butler County with distinction and compassion toward those under pressure. You are the standard by which other elected officials should be measured by. You are graded every day by the Butler County Voters. You and your office have an “A+” from me. Keep standing for what is right. Thanks a lot. God Bless the fine folks of the BCSO.

I am retired from AK Steel and I want to thank you for all the support that you have given to the locked out employees. They need all the support that they can get from the policital arena. People like yourself and Mr. Fox are an asset to our community. I met you once when you were first running for sheriff and you were putting up your own election sign’s and that impressed me. I’m glad that I voted for you and I’m glad that you won. You remind me of another great sheriff, Paul Pell. He was a community person also.He organized the SAL (sheriff’s athletic league) for children to keep them off of the streets and I was his first member.
    Thank you for your time.
