Here’s the Beef!
I’ve been talking about doing something about the illegal aliens in Butler County since last October. Well, talk became action yesterday with the arrest of ten illegals and it’s just a start. For those that have been asking, “Where’s the beef?”, I can only say, “Dinner is served” and it’s the first of many.
I have said for months now that I intend to address the problem of illegal aliens who are driving up my inmate housing costs and causing other negative effects on Butler County. Working closely with I.C.E. we’ve been able to start making arrests of illegal aliens. In addition to the charge of illegal immigration, they were arrested on warrants for other serious crimes, and/or false documents.
Today, I have a billboard going up on I-75 near the 129 exit putting the employers of illegal aliens on notice that they are breaking the law and I intend to enforce it. By making employers clearly aware they are breaking the law by hiring illegal aliens, I feel I can make this practice less desirable.
These employers need to know they are breaking laws just like the illegal aliens they employ, and I treat all criminals equally.
We’re turning up the heat, and I predict a long, hot, Summer.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was beginning to think I was the only American that felt that illegal means just that, breaking the law! How about a list of companies to boycott for everyone? I would gladly refrain from buying anything from companies who hire illegal immigrants.

Sheriff Dick, I feel I can call you that- like our Esteemed Second-In-Command, Mr. Cheney, and have it be a compliment. While I heartily and heterosexually admire the actions you are taking to clean up the illegal problem in these parts, I am concerned that you’re enormous talents and courage are, in fact, being wasted here among the mere symptoms of the greater problem. Why, when I think of the sheer potential of an alliance between yourself and Chris Simcox’ Minuteman Border Control Organization, I can practically hear the southern border slamming shut like a jailhouse door. It’s like they say; “When the the toilet goes on the fritz, you gotta fix the toilet itself before you worry about disinfecting the bathroom floor.” (Just in case you missed the analogy, the illegals here is what’s fouling the floors and the border is the toilet). I know of many American Contractors and Siding Installers, myself included, that were let go only to be replaced by Immigrants.
I appreciate your hard work and dedication to your position and to our communities. Sheriff Jones it takes a man to take a stand and you’re our man. We feel your efforts to round of up illegal immigrates are the best thing that has been done for our community in a long time. We had a friend who was in a serious car accident caused by an illegal immigrate and he took off. This situation left our friend in a financial bind and nothing could be done to the person (the illegal immigrant). You’re a good man.

Clearly you did not pay attention during general economics. Each country has what is called its potential output, or how much a country can produce. Can you imagine if a plague killed off 10 million U.S. workers, this would destroy a nation’s potential output, prices would rise sharply, and demand would increase. Now attempting to arrest and deport 10 million migrant workers would have the same detrimental effect as that of a plague would, it would kill our economy. Perhaps you should take this into consideration before you provide the citizens of Butler County with your blatant political grandstanding.

Thank you for speaking out about what most all Americans are thinking and talking about. I would like also to have a list. I lived in West Chester for many years and now back in West Virginia, and I love to know there are Americans taking a stand on this illegal immigrant (criminals) mess. After years of just “scraping” by and my husband being told that his job can be replaced at any time for half wage by an illegal, we can finally breathe. With him working in construction and not making very much money with 2 kids it’s hard, very hard. The weight of knowing you can be replaced at anytime because there’s someone willing to work for half of what he makes is sickening.
Well not anymore, so thank you so much!! Maybe my husband can make a decent hourlyl wage now becuase he is a hard worker and I know there are many more people out there who get shorted for what their worth because they can be replaced just as easily. So all in all, I think it’s great. These jobs any american would be willing to work, and it’s sad that there are americans who say that only the immigrants will work those. Not anymore.

We can’t thank you enough for what you are doing, i’m not a predjudice person but enough is enough, i was born and raised hear and i don’t think it is right that i can’t even get medical assistance when i need it but they can get free health care, it’s just not right, everywhere you turn we are being over run with imagrant’s and before we know it it is gonna be more of them then true americans who are suppose to be hear i just need to say good job and keep up the good work !!!!

I have no truck with folks coming in legally (from anywhere) and becoming part of the American society. I do have issue with all thoise who come here illegally (from anywhere), stay in the underground economy and never become one of us.
We need, every one of right thinking individuals, to do outr very best to explain to those who somehow support the illegals just what that is costing our country. Plus, how denigrating it is to all those (from anywhere) who came here and did it legally.

I would be willing to wager that most of you would describe yourselves as Christians. In that case, I would plead with you to return to your Bibles- and to the words of Christ himself in particular- and take a good long look at yourselves and the hatred that you bristle with. Jesus would have been helping these folks safely cross the border and stirring up the politicians to help settle them in here as part of this great experiment in democracy. Regarding comments by Randall: Jesus expects His people to obey the laws of the land as well as His laws. Jesus would have encouraged anyone wanting to enter another country to do so legally. God’s commandments order us, “do not steal, do not lie.” If someone’s circumstances are poor, they should seek to improve them within the law. I have read the Bible and have never seen Jesus encourage anyone to profit themselves by lying, cheating or stealing. This has nothing to do with racism or hatred, it has to do with enforcing and obeying the laws in order to keep our country safe.

Sheriff Jones, I applaud you for what you are doing to try to solve the ILLEGAL alien problem in Butler County. My father came to the United States LEGALLY from Puerto Rico in 1944. He learned to speak English and taught his 3 children to always respect the law and be proud to be an American. My oldest brother is a hospital administrator in New York, my middle brother just retired from the Port Authority of New York after 35 years, and I was the first in our family to get a bachelor’s degree. I tell you this because I am sick and tired of illegals coming to this country and expecting us to cater to them! We all worked hard to get where we are. Yes, I am of hispanic descent but this illegal alien situation is way out of hand. I wish people would understand that the illegal aliens have BROKEN the laws of the United States and have NO RIGHTS and employers who give them jobs are breaking the law. Continue to do what you are doing! This hispanic woman is proud of what YOU and YOUR DEPUTIES are doing!
GB, I’m sorry, pal but, if memory serves, Jesus was way into Civil Disobedience. Leading a rebellion against an oppressive, occupying government was, I’m guessing, not legal. Throwing the moneychangers out of the Temple and otherwise hassling the religious establishment of the day- the Pharisees, wasn’t playing by their rules either, was it? The backbreaking, grinding poverty and corruption of Mexico and Central America qualifies these folks as economic, if not political, refugees deserving of asylum here in this shining beacon of Democracy. Concertina wire, border walls, cowboy sheriffs, roundups, deportation, hatred, and intolerance are decidedly NOT what Jesus would do.
