Hold Legislators Accountable
The Senate has been trying to pass legislation that will allow illegals to remain in this country. They say this is not an amnesty program but they have said this in the past. They call this a workers program. It appears the Senate is trying to pass legislation to help themselves and not the citizens they represent or the illegals they are trying to represent. In the end both we the citizens and the illegals will lose out. Remember the actions of these lawmakers and kick them out on election day.

I have had it with this illegal alien issue I went to college for two and a half years, may not seem like a lot to some, but trust and beleive it did take a long time. I had to drop out before I could get my associate degree in applied science. I only dropped out because I had to work part time. Now, after ten years experience in Medical Assisting, I went to my doctor and found a hispanic person working…..I asked her how she got her diploma and she said that she had not yet, but that she had got her job through the health alliance.
Is college for nothing? You should have to have the credits to graduate before practicing in a medical field. However, I have worked for ten years without a problem before now. Why should I take second place to someone who has not even finished school. But because they went to school, they will fill the position. Well, they don’t know anything.
My grandfather left his wife and nine children 100 yr’s ago to have freedom from the threats of violence against unions in Germany! My mother was 2yr with the other 8 siblings in the bottom of a boat where they shared a fire with 10 other families for the cooking. It took 2 wks+ to get to Baltomore then on to Cincinnati where Papa had a small pc. of farm land on the banks of the MillCreek. They became US citizens, led quiet lives caused no trouble for the law, paid dearly for my Mom’s Ca trt (1952-59; I & my sis were 10 & 9).We heard German ocassionally, I took it in High School.Only three or four of the 14 grandchildren went to college, paid for themselves NOT the government.Maybe our nation as I have known it for 57 years is “done for”,but with better leadership, hard work, much prayer I believe we can stay united & press on as a ONE nation under GOD! To survive this influx of immigrants will be our most trying hour in this great land-USA! As in other countries ,I believe every young person must serve 2yr in defending the freedoms we hold so dear including the freedoms that the liberals take issue with ie.”seperation of church & state” among others that are taken for granted (until it’s gone)! I pray you & the others continue to stand for LAW & JUSTICE &theAMERICAN WAY ! amen a voice,B C FOGEL
You’re doing a great job, Sheriff Jones! Thank you for being one of the few people in authority in this country with backbone.
I’m afraid it’s going to be up to local sheriffs and other law enforcement personnel along with local and state governments to stop illegal immigration as our current elected representatives both Democrat and Republican have sold us out.
Also, I suggest all conservative Republicans and moderate Democrats consider the Constitution Party. They are against illegal immigration and put the United States and its people first, which is certainly more than either the Democratic or Republican parties can say.
Again, Sheriff Jones, GREAT JOB!
Sheriff Jones, I found your blog just today. Good job! It’s great to see someone in public service stand on principle for a change.
While I’m not a resident of Butler County, I do support your actions regarding illegal aliens. Keep it up. Eventually the pressure will mount upon our elected representatives and real change, for the better, will occur. At least that’s what I must believe in.
And if you ever move south a few miles, please let us know. Sheriff Leis is a good man, but he’ll be retiring sooner or later. Hamilton County desperately needs good men like yourself, sir. We have so few.
Sheriff Jones please keep up the good work . You have made many people proud to say they are from Butler County Ohio with your patriotism and common sense law enforcement . I will be proud to help you in anyway possible . You have the support of many residents who will support you now and at election time , with no regard to their or your political party label . We the people support you because you stand for what is right .
I saw you on Fox News this morning, and I only wish our Arizona representatives shared your strong views!! Here, we are overrun with illegal aliens, and yet some of our representatives continue to sell us down the river with their all-inclusive pro-illegal legislative ideas. They have forgotten that these illegals cannot vote, and those of us who can have had enough. Keep up the good work!! And, please keep speaking out! Your views truly echo those of most American citizens.
Sheriff Jones: Just witnessed your interview on one of the news channels. Kudos to you for trying to deal with a situation fast becoming impossible. I’m not a constituent, in fact, not even a resident of your state, but mine, Missouri, shares the same problems with illegal immigrants. I have no diffficulty with, even applaud those who come to this country to better themselves and their families, provided they become citizens. If they do not, and then riot in the streets demanding rights they don’t possess as illegals, it’s time for them to go home.
Good luck, and thank you for making an effort…

I recently returned from Iraq after my second tour. How disgusting to come back and see a racist hick like yourself wrap himself in the American flag by arresting some poor sap from Mexico scraping money to send back to his family. Grandstanding idiots like yourself ought to spend their time enforcing local criminal laws and leave small businesses alone.
Val: I appreciate your service to our country. Being as you work for the citizens as I do, I’m sure you are familiar with the “Rule of Law”, which is a significant part of our democracy.
If you are not familiar with the Rule of Law, it is a fundamental component of democratic society and is defined broadly as the principle that all members of society — both citizens and rulers — are bound by a set of clearly defined and universally accepted laws.
Rule of Law
Now, one of these clearly defined laws is that all immigrants must enter this country legally. Unfortunately, for years this law has been blatently ignored and I, as well as the vast majority of citizens in this country, are tired of it.
To me, if someone breaks a law, ANY law, they are a criminal and I am charged with the responsibility of arresting them, or contacting the agency with the proper authority, as in the case of someone who broke immigration laws.
Under the Rule of Law, I must treat all equally, and yet you are expecting me to arrest only certain criminals. Sorry, criminals are criminals to me.
I must also add that your name calling does nothing to solve this problem.
I appreciate Sheriff Jones allowing people to speak freely about the issues on this blog site. I find it interesting and eye opening to hear both sides of the immigration issue. Personally, I believe that immigration needs to be done legally. There are many that are doing it right and they all have my support for trying to get a better life for themselves and their families. However, for those who are not doing it right, they are breaking the law. I dont think that anyone has the right to break the law and get away with it. It is about time that we see some change.
Val, I understand and respect your right to have your own opinion on this issue. I am thankful for people like you that are willing to lay everything on the line for your country. But, the disrespect for others that don’t share your opinion is shameful. Again thank you for all that you did for your country and for me as a citizen. But, this country is based on the rights of its citizens to have an opinion of their own. You have the right to yours and Sheriff Joens has been gracious enough to give you the means to voice your opinion even though they are different than his. Please just be respectful of everyone else that has an opinion that different than yours.
i feel the illegals are running this country. kids in school have to learn spanish. we get to pay their health care, rent and their food. they need to go.
what 18 yr old wouldn’t like to be a brick layer for 20$ a hour. the usa does have that many tomatoes bean and other vegs that needs picked by 11 mil illegals to do it. lets face it they get to ok to stay they won’t keep picking beans they’ll want better paying jobs with bennies they’ll be workin gour jobs and living in our houses and we’ll be living in one room shacks with 20 roomies. i have a idea let the inmates pick the beans. we are already paying for there food board, and health care.
I am Ohio born and raised off Lake Erie. Now residing in Wisconsin. I am very happy and proud to see that you are speaking up Sheirff. I left after experiencing first hand the extreme corruption that has taken place in the legal system of Ohio in certain counties. (Fayette county is the armpit of Ohio)
It is good to know there are still a few left out there that aren’t. And to read some possitive things coming from Ohio. I still miss it.
Bravo and keep up the good work!
A DAY WITHOUT AMERICANS ! April 17, 2006!
In response to the recent mass national rallies fearlessly staged by the illegal alien lobby, The Dustin Inman Society is suggesting that Americans nationwide stay home from work and not spend any money on April 17. 2006 - income tax day.
APRIL 17, 2006 LEGAL Americans are being asked to stay home from work and not spend any money that day! Protest ILLEGAL aliens, their boycotts and marches, their taking of jobs, resources, welfare, healthcare, disobediance and defiance of American laws. Show congress that they may ignore our emails and phone calls, but we won’t remain ignored!

Sheriff Jones - you are catching on!
“Path to Deportation Can Start With a Traffic Stop
By PAUL VITELLO
While lawmakers in Washington debate whether to forgive illegal immigrants their trespasses, a small but increasing number of local and state law enforcement officials are taking it upon themselves to pursue deportation cases against people who are here illegally.”

I very much appreciate the stand you are taking.
I thought I had read that you had hopes of Kentucky and Indiana joining with Ohio in order to create an “Illegal free zone”. Is there any furthur developments along those lines?

I saw the sheriff on TV, great job, we need more like him. If everyone would copy and send the “I WANT YOU…” poster from the sheriff’s web page and send it to their legislators, they may get the message. This sounds like a national movement. Helena, Arkansas
I have a comment to make. Where not the majority of everyone’s ancestor here in Ohio once illegal? I mean, where did everyone come from?
Minutemans Walk Across America
He’s on his way folks, they are taking signatures online, and will send them to him in DC. He will then personaly hand them over to Congress and the President. Please sign the petion before he arrives. He is making stops all over the USA on his way. But, he can not make it everywhere so sign online.
Thanks for everything you are trying to do. I am still young and hate to see this country heading down its current path. Its bad enough that money I work for goes to legal people who abuse the system, let alone all of these immigrants who have no rights here to begin with. The toll on the healthcare system alone is enough to make you sick.
Sheriff, I am grateful for your stand.
I want to put special emphasis on your last sentence:
Remember the actions of these lawmakers and kick them out on election day.
Incumbent Ohio Senator Mike DeWine supported the legislation you abhor in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The better of his two challengers in the May primary, Bill Pierce, is diametrically opposed to what the Senate has done, and has said so, even referring to the Rule of Law as you did in a comment:

I think your blog readers should simply follow your advice on May 2 in the US Senate GOP Primary in Ohio.
Sheriff Jones,
Keep up the excellent work ! It’s about time the rights of American citizens were enforced. If you are ILLEGAL you have no right but the right to go back where you came from. I’m sick and tired of my tax dollar paying for food, shelter and healthcare for people that don”t belong here to begin with. These people have more rights than we do. It’s sickening. It’s time to take back our country and send these parasites packing.
Legal papers do not make someone an american! An american works here, maybe marries and has chidren here, and an american fights to defend that life. Perhaps all the history books left something out.I don’t remember readding that the indians asked the pilgrims for there papers before are amercan four fathers murdered raped, and systimaticly butchered them. Or did our great upstanding legal american fathers ask for papers when the afericans were inslaved and brought here.
Thank you Sheriff Jones. I am behind you 100%.
Is this unbelievable or what?
Senator Isaacson offered an amendment to the immigration bill being debated in the senate. His amendment would have required the director of Homeland Security to certify in writing to the president that the border is secure before any program of earned citizenship can be started.
I failed on a vote of 40 yeas, 55 nays. These are 55 that need to be gotten rid of because they have shown their true colors on this one.

for ‘Dawn’ and some others:
Please don’t get detoured on the ‘past history’ trail. There has been a concerted effort for years in this country to rewrite history to make it palatable with current events and situations. What has passed, is past. The reality is now. None of us living had any control over events when this country was settled, or the slave trade, or any of a hundred other things that have happened. The crucial bit of info is to remember that at the time those things were done, it seemed the right thing to do. You cannot judge the past in today’s context.
My thoughts and I’m sticking with them.
Bill
It is so depressing that our Senate has defied the will of those they represent by rewarding illegal aliens work, benefits, and eventual citizenship, after creating the immigration laws that they failed to enforce.
These men and women have become “career Senators” and have only one purpose: Their re-election, and the country be damned! The business community, including the Chamber of Commerce, is shameless that they too have caused the alien problem. God help us!
I am in absolute awe of your determination to uphold the law. By stepping in where our leaders have failed to enforce the law (that they themselves have crafted) doesn’t sit well. And you are correct about Congress - I can’t figure out who they are representing, certainly not the people who gave them their power to protect them.
I want the poster on the right - with the uncle sam shot - I want to see if I can put it up at work and see what happens.
I don’t know why the media is portraying bias and not leaving the readers to make up their minds - it seems the #1 rule 20+ lawbreakers want to get the message out that it’s ok to break the law.
I see no reason why we should suspend our contitution to accomodate them, nor bend our soveriengty to the will of another nation. There can be only 1 constitution, not one for us and a better one for them.
Law enforcement like you tell the American people they have hope in their lives. Congress should represent the people that sent them there. 17% of the population is being represented as 97% of the registered voters.
If you could do something about the illegal voters, bonus.
If you need the links to the studies and articles and opinions that I have been collecting, and growing, that Americans come first is right, let me know.
They want to discriminate against you because you have a picture of John Wayne? Lawbreakers are afraid they will get caught? Who are they kidding, that is as much a lie as it is that American’s won’t do certain jobs.
There is no job an American wouldn’t do. And the dark side of the law you go into everyday further proves it.
Sheriff Jones, you 100% right in your view of this situation. I welcome anyone to this great Country that does so legelly. Fortunately, I did not have to worry about this being born in the US. I feel for those who seek better oppurtunuties and fortunes. But they cannot do so at the cost of breaking the law and avoiding taxes.
The revelation of how desperate people can become to better their situation really hit home this year. As I was in Florida and seen a make shift raft that was found floating at sea. It was obvious these were Cubans setting sail and graspoing at straws with the hopes of something better. To trust your life to this raft, was amazing to me as I saw it stood no chance to get anyone anywhere. Especailly from one country to another. But, those who entrusted their lives (and probably lost their lives), to this raft were desperate for improvement.
How is it that we are so far inland of the United State, and we are worry about the borders? Why are the neighboring states of Mexico not doing this for us? It is time that maybe the US takes a stand against those states?
Another point to be made, is there anyway that the US or anyone else can help the Mexican economy? If things improved there, then they wouldn’t want to be here. OK, that’s a pipe dream, but something to get our minds going.
Also, a word from the wise. American’s need to wake up and smell the coffee. Jobs are not easy to come by, and when we aren’t willing to do it, there is someone else that will. Unfortunately for us, those individuals aren’t paying taxes, and doing there share to keep this great nation going.
So, we get the immigration thing fixed, what’s next? Better raods in Hamilton??? My poor little car is getting beat to death out there…..
