Talk…talk…talk….
After reading the blog comments, emails and letters regarding the illegal aliens issue here in Butler County, I gathered that some think that all I am really doing is talk, talk, talk. I have read where some folks feel it is easy to talk a good game, but much harder to deliver. Some are in essense asking… “Where’s the beef??”
Well, all I can say for right now is “stay tuned”.

I am with you 100%, keep up the good work in fighting illegal immigration.
Our elected American government officials, were elected for one reason, to represent Americans. We did not elect our American government officials to represent illegal foreign aliens that have entered our country, illegally.
Our United States congress floor, should not be used to debate, what we should do for illegal aliens. Illegal aliens must be deported. No more amnesties.
No more guestworker programs. We already have an unwelcomed guestworker program and it is time for them to leave. It is time for our government officials to be held accountable for these unwelcomed guestworkers (illegal aliens). We must
vote them out of office. Vote in Americans for Americans.
Keep up the good fight. We are with you.
Jones—I know that you are not talk…talk..talk. It is blatantly obvious that you mean business. I am impressed by your words, but I am more impressed with the actions that you have taken. You are doing everything right in my opinion. I work in law enforcement and it is nice to see that someone is finally doing something about this problem. Thanks Jones…I think you should run for president. You would have my vote!!
Undocumented workers are contributing billions to our social security system. They are hired simply because there are not enough Americans to do the job. Did Americans rush to fill jobs when undocumented workers started staying home because of your small mindedness? I doubt it.
Our country is in a losing war, deep in debt, with a faltering education and health care system, and you think the biggest problem we have is people who want to come here and work hard?? That is the history of the U.S. Sheriff Jones and all who support you - unless you’re American Indian, all of our ancestors came here looking for a better life. We can’t verify whether they crossed into the US legally with visas.

I fully agree with Sheriff Jones - someone has to come up to bat for the true American citizens-all races included - Illegals are taking resources that we, as citizens have to pay for, are taxed for, and work for. Why are they getting free medical - they have tons of money?? Why are their children born in the US allowed to be citizens-that should stop unless their parents are citizens. The business and landlords that hire and rent to these illegals should be fined - they are harboring criminals-yes criminals. My new neighbor just rented to illegals-yes, he knows they are illegals-he said he tried to check them out but they don’t have social security numbers so it took awhile to veryify them-isn’t that illegal?? Isn’t he harboring criminals?? We need laws and someone to react on these laws and it sounds like Sherrif Jones is the one - you have my vote!!
I’d like to ask “Sue” if she pays taxes? She might like to know that $76.3 MILLION tax dollars are spent in Ohio alone just for educating children of illegal aliens. I wonder how much it is on BORDER states? Add in all the medical, incarceration, and prosecution expenses that are paid by the taxpayers and MAYBE you can begin to see the problem with illegals who commit crimes.
I’m certain that whatever amount that undocumented workers pay into social security pales in comparison to the expenses created by those that are “paid under the table” and pay NO taxes when they need medical attention. With no insurance, who do you think pays the hospital bills for delivering babies and emergency room care? Here’s a clue: They don’t.
Do you think that possibly all the non-taxpaying illegals that are over burdoning our schools and health care systems could have something to do with what you call a “faltering economy”?
You are correct that my ancestors did immigrate from other lands. They also did it legally, learned English, accepted the United States flag as THEIR flag, and fought in our wars to preserve our freedoms and the freedom of others. Freedoms that are now being taken for granted and abused.
I don’t have to look too far for illegal aliens. They are in my jail. They have commited crimes and got arrested.
I disagree with your statement that illegals fill jobs that US citizens do not want. They cannot GET the jobs because Social Security carrying citizens cannot compete with the illegals who work for far less. Also consider that much of the money they do make gets sent out of the US further damaging our economy.

I completely support your actions relating to the ILLEGAL immigrants. You give hope to those of use who have lost faith in our government officials who refuse to address this ever increasing problem.
Our country has always and continues to welcome immigrants seeking a better life in the US…but through legal means. Our country should be look at as our home…do you want visitors coming through the front door as invited guests or crawling through the windows to gain access.
I am new to this site but have found relief knowing that I am not alone in my feelings of illegal immigration. No sue, they do not contribute to the social security system, how could they? They are immune to taxes, therefore, leaving you and I, the taxpayers to pay for their brother, uncle, daughter, son’s jail sentence, free lunches, food stamps, welfare. The list goes on and on and I for one am tired of my community being overloaded by illegal immigrants who you say come here to work. If that is true then why are there more mexicans at the welfare office than any other race? They come to our country, strip her of her resources, rape our children, yes Sue, have you looked at the top ten most wanted? I don’t care what the price to send them back, my children deserve to be able to play outside without worrying if one of the twenty illegal immigrants living next door are going to abuse them. Keep up the good work sherriff.

Sheriff Jones and Staff, I would like to personally THANK YOU and YOUR STAFF for the help they have given to the Ohio Department of Transportation for the help in cleanning up the litter on our state highways last year. Your program (Chain Gang) has helped the Butler County ODOT save countless manhours by having the prisioners pick up the litter along state highways. Before you started the program our Ohio Production Index (OPI) was at a 2, well below the goal of a 4 that the State of Ohio and the Director of Transportation had set as a goal state wide. With the help of you and your staff working on our priority roads we were able to concentrate on our secondary highways and bring them all up to a 5 in our OPI ratings, with a 6 being the highest achieveable score. It also freeded up some much needed manhours for our crews to perform other duties (ie, tree trimming, paving, berming and culvert repair) that had been neglected in the county due the the department downsizing over the last few years. Once again I would like to THANK you and your staff for helping the county in other ways, not just protecting us. Thank you and you are a great AMERICAN.
